UV/VISIBLE-ABSORBING VINYLIC MONOMERS AND USES THEREOF
Described herein are UV-absorbing vinylic monomers and their uses in preparing UV-absorbing contact lenses capable of blocking ultra-violet (“UV”) radiation and violet radiation with wavelengths from 380 nm to 440 nm, thereby protecting eyes to some extent from damages caused by UV radiation and potentially from violet radiation.
COMPOUNDS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING HIV WITH DERIVATIVES OF BETULIN
The present invention relates to compounds characterized by having a structure according to the following Formula I:
##STR00001##
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Compounds of the present invention are useful for the treatment or prevention of HIV.
Probe for selectively characterizing enzymes involved in xenobiotic metabolism and method of making and using the same
Activity-based probes that can be used to selectively identify and characterize enzymes that are involved in different phases of xenobiotic metabolism in a host and its microbiota population(s) are described. The activity-based probes described specifically label only their target active enzymes involved in xenobiotic metabolism and therefore provide a measurement of true protein functional activity rather than transcript or protein abundance. The activity-based probes also provide multimodal profiling of these active enzymes. Methods for preparing the activity based probes and exemplary methods for their use also are disclosed.

Compounds as modulators of TLR2 signaling
The present disclosure relates to compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and use of such compounds in methods of treatment or in medicaments for treatment of inflammatory diseases and certain neurological disorders that are related to inflammatory signaling processes, including but not limited to misfolded proteins.
INTERMEDIATE FOR SYNTHESIZING CAMPTOTHECIN DERIVATIVE, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR, AND USE THEREOF
Provided are an intermediate for synthesizing a camptothecin derivative, a preparation method therefor, and the use thereof. An intermediate A can be obtained from 3-fluoro-4-methylaniline by means of acylation, bromination, and cross-coupling reactions. The intermediate A can be used for preparing an intermediate B to further prepare exatecan mesylate. The intermediate compound B can be obtained from the intermediate A by means of a rearrangement reaction, and exatecan mesylate can be obtained from the intermediate compound B by means of deprotection for acetamido and amino at the a site, a condensation reaction, and a hydrolysis reaction. The reaction starting materials have a low price, the reaction conditions of each step are moderate, the operation is simple, and the yield is high, such that the intermediate is suitable for industrial production.
