A method for measuring objects in a digestive tract based on an imaging system is provided. The imaging system captures a detection image in the measurement stage. The depth distance z.sub.i from a target point P′ to a board is calculated, a correction factor is obtained according to the predicted brightness g.sup.−1(z.sub.i) of a reference point P in the detection image. The depth image z(x, y) from the actual position of each pixel to the board is calibrated by the correction factor. The scale r of each pixel is calculated according to the depth image z(x, y). The actual two-dimensional coordinates S.sub.i′ of each pixel are calculated by the scale r, and the actual three-dimensional coordinates (S.sub.i′, z(x, y)) of each pixel are obtained. The distance between any two pixels in the detection image or the area within any range are calculated.

The sensor may be an analyte sensor configured to obtain at least one measurement of a concentration of an analyte in a fluid. The analyte sensor comprises a sensor substance in a sol-gel material so the sensor substance reversibly interacts with an analyte of interest. In addition, the retrievable device can be configured to determine different physical parameters and re-implanted.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOTELY MANEUVERING A MAGNETIC MINIATURE DEVICE

A system configured to remotely maneuver a magnetic miniature device within a patient along a path conforming to a predetermined route is provided. The system comprises two coils, each configured to produce a magnetic field, and to be selectively pivoted about at least a first pivot axis within a first predetermined range of angles, a horizontal platform configured to support thereon the patient and to be disposed within the coils, and a controller configured to direct operation of the system. The predetermined range of angles constrains the system from maneuvering the miniature device along the route. The controller is configured to calculate a path comprising a plurality of segments, the path conforming to the route within a predetermined deviation. The controller is further configured to operate the coils within the predetermined range of angles to induce a magnetic field to maneuver the miniature device along the path.

The electromagnetic radiation source may be configured to project the electromagnetic radiation in a pattern corresponding to a spatial signal modulation algorithm. The electromagnetic radiation source may also be configured to project the electromagnetic radiation at a frequency suitable for transmission through the media in which the radiation is projected. An image sensor may be configured to capture image data representing the projected pattern. An image-processing module may be configured to receive the captured image data from the image sensor and to calculate a full-field, 3-D representation of the surface using the captured image data and the spatial signal modulation algorithm. A display device may be configured to display the full-field, 3-D representation of the surface.
