System and method for multiclass classification of images using a programmable light source
An apparatus, system and process for identifying one or more different tissue types are described. The method may include applying a configuration to one or more programmable light sources of an imaging system, where the configuration is obtained from a machine learning model trained to distinguish between the one or more different tissue types captured in image data. The method may also include illuminating a scene with the configured one or more programmable light sources, and capturing image data that includes one or more types of tissue depicted in the image data. Furthermore, the method may include analyzing color information in the captured image data with the machine learning model to identify at least one of the one or more different tissue types in the image data, and rendering a visualization of the scene from the captured image data that visually differentiates tissue types in the visualization.

FLUOROPHORE IMAGING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR AN ENDOSCOPIC PROCEDURE
Fluorescent imaging systems for performing an endoscopic procedure, such as a retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedure may include a first light source for emitting light in the visible spectrum, or light in the near infrared (NIR) spectrum, or both. A light source bandpass filter may block the emitted light in the visible spectrum, or in the NIR spectrum, or both. A first sensor may be capable of detecting the light in the visible spectrum, or the light in the NIR spectrum, or both. A sensor bandpass filter may block the detected light in the visible spectrum, or in the NIR spectrum, or both. The first or a second light source, or the first or a second sensor, or combinations thereof, may be removably disposed on a duodenoscope.
Methods of treating and imaging tumor micrometastases using photoactive immunoconjugates
Methods for evaluating micrometastases in a tissue region of a subject are described. The methods include administering to the subject a detectably effective amount of a tumor-targeted photoactivatable immunoconjugate; allowing a sufficient amount of time for the tumor-targeted photoactivatable immunoconjugate to enter micrometastases in the tissue region; illuminating the tumor-targeted photoactivatable immunoconjugate; obtaining an image of the tissue region of the subject using a fluorescent imaging device, and evaluating the micrometastases in the tissue region by conducting algorithmic analysis of the image. Methods of treating micrometastases in a tissue region of a subject are also described.
Image processing apparatus, image processing method, and electronic apparatus
An image processing apparatus includes a first acquisition unit that acquires a first pixel signal output from a first pixel, a second acquisition unit that acquires a second pixel signal output from a second pixel having a size smaller than that of the first pixel, a temperature detection unit that detects temperature; a composition gain determination unit that determines a composition gain corresponding to the detected temperature, and a composition unit that composes the first pixel signal and the second pixel signal multiplied by the composition gain.
ASSIST DEVICE, ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM, ASSIST METHOD AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
An assist device includes: a processor configured to generate a fluorescence image based on an imaging signal that is generated by capturing an image of fluorescence caused by excitation light that is applied to a living tissue, calculate a fluorescence intensity based on the fluorescence image, based on the fluorescence intensity, estimate a placement period during which a medical tool is placed in a lumen, and output placement period information on the placement period and an observation image obtained by capturing an image of the living tissue.
Endoscope system and method of operating the same
A special observation image is obtained by performing an image pickup of an object to be observed illuminated with special light. Bs-image signals of the special observation image are assigned to brightness signals Y to generate a first observation image for display. Gs-image signals of the special observation image are assigned to brightness signals Y to generate a second observation image for display. The first observation image for display and the second observation image for display are automatically switched and displayed on a monitor.
Offset illumination of a scene using multiple emitters in a fluorescence imaging system
Offset illumination using multiple emitters in a fluorescence imaging system is described. A system includes an emitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation. The emitter comprises a first emitter and a second emitter for emitting different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength from about 770 nm to about 790 nm.

Methods for quantifying fluorescence and optical properties in a turbid medium such as tissue. Devices and systems suitable for the methods are also disclosed.
Stereo-endoscope
A stereo-endoscope for observation and analysis of an object, comprising a shaft with distal and proximal ends, illuminating means for illuminating the object, and stereoscopic imaging means which transfer light radiated by the object from the distal end to the proximal end. Light of a first imaging channel is fed into a first sensor, and light of a second imaging channel is fed into a second sensor. Both sensors contain mutually different beam splitters, which split the light into four light beams. One light beam from each of the sensors is deflected onto one sensor each; these two sensors are identical. The signals detected there are assembled to form a stereoscopic image. The stereo-endoscope comprises mutually different manipulating means for the other two light beams; by means of suitably-tuned image-processing algorithms, two different monoscopic images containing information complementary to each other and to the stereoscopic image are generated.
