Speckle removal in a pulsed fluorescence imaging system
Speckle removal in a pulsed fluorescence imaging system is described. A system includes a coherent light source for emitting pulses of coherent light, a fiber optic bundle connected to the coherent light source, and a vibrating mechanism attached to the fiber optic bundle. The system includes and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of coherent light emitted by the coherent light source comprises electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength from about 770 nm to about 790 nm.
Electronic endoscope processor and electronic endoscopic system
An electronic endoscope processor includes a converting means for converting each piece of pixel data that is made up of n (n≥3) types of color components and constitutes a color image of a biological tissue in a body cavity into a piece of pixel data that is made up of m (m≥2) types of color components, m being smaller than n; an evaluation value calculating means for calculating, for each pixel of the color image, an evaluation value related to a target illness based on the converted pieces of pixel data that are made up of m types of color components; and a lesion index calculating means for calculating a lesion index for each of a plurality of types of lesions related to the target illness based on the evaluation values calculated for the pixels of the color image.

METHOD OF ALERTING A USER TO OFF-SCREEN EVENTS DURING SURGERY
An image of a field of view is captured by the endoscope and a portion of the image is displayed on a display. A popup image is generated and displayed upon image analysis identification of an occurrence of bleeding or motion of edges of an incision that is within the field of view, but outside the portion of the field of view displayed on the display.

PROGRAM, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND MODEL GENERATION METHOD
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer program code executed by a computer processor that executes an imaging process comprising: acquiring a medical image generated based on a signal detected by a catheter insertable into a body lumen; estimating a cause of an image defect by inputting the acquired medical image to a model learned to output the cause of the image defect when the medical image in which the image defect occurs is input; and outputting introduction information for introducing a countermeasure for removing the estimated cause of the image defect.
IMAGE ACQUISITION MEDICAL DEVICE AND MEDICAL SYSTEM
The disclosed image acquisition medical device and medical system make it possible to easily grasp an orientation of a distal end portion of the medical device based on an angiographic image and a tomographic image. The image acquisition medical device includes a flexible body portion that extends in an axial direction; an image sensor that is disposed in the body portion and that is configured to acquire an image of a hollow organ; and a contrast unit that protrudes toward a distal end side of the body portion and that makes an orientation of a distal end portion of the body portion visually recognizable in an angiographic image. Relative positions of the image sensor and the contrast unit in an axial rotation direction are fixed.
ENDOSCOPE WITH SYNTHETIC APERTURE MULTISPECTRAL CAMERA ARRAY
A method which may effectively provide an endoscope or other surgical instrument with a synthetic multi-camera array may comprise capturing using one or more cameras located at a distal tip of the surgical instrument, a set of images comprising first and second images. For each image in such set of images, that image may be captured by a corresponding camera from the one or more cameras, may be captured when the distal dip of the instrument is located at a corresponding point in space. Such a method may also comprise generating a three dimensional image based on compositing representations of a structure in the first and second image after applying a non-rigid transformation to one or more of those representations.

INGESTIBLE DEVICE WITH PROPULSION AND IMAGING CAPABILITIES
An ingestible device comprising a capsule, a camera, an antenna, and a propulsion component id disclosed. The camera can capture images of various in vivo environments as the ingestible device traverses the gastrointestinal tract, and these images can be wirelessly transmitted to an electronic device located outside of the living body. The images may be transmitted to the electronic device for review by an operator responsible for controlling the ingestible device.
