An illumination lens consists of a first lens and a second lens that are arranged in this order from a light source side toward an irradiation target side. The surface of the first lens close to the light source side and the surface of the first lens close to the irradiation target side are spherical convex surfaces, and the surface of the second lens close to the light source side is a spherical convex surface. Conditional expression determined in advance about the radii of curvature of the surfaces of the first and second lenses is satisfied.

A position specifying section obtains an observation distance by specifying the position of an irradiated region from a picked-up image that is obtained from the image pickup of a subject on which the irradiated region is formed by auxiliary measurement light. An image processing section sets the amount of offset, which corresponds to a height of the irradiated region of a convex portion of the subject, for the observation distance, and generates an offset measurement marker on the basis of the offset distance that obtained by adding the amount of offset to the observation distance. A specific image in which the offset measurement marker is superimposed on the picked-up image is displayed on a display unit.

Photonic probe apparatus with integrated tissue marking facility

The invention relates to a photonic probe apparatus and a method for probing tissue to detect and mark biological tissue with cancerous or precancerous states. The apparatus involves a probe for illuminating tissue and collecting light from an illuminated tissue region through the probe, a unit for analyzing collected light to determine whether a threshold measure of probability of a cancerous or precancerous lesion in the probed tissue region in contact with the probe is exceeded, and an integrated tissue marking facility which can be activated to mark the probed tissue region through the probe when the threshold measure is exceeded. The photonic probe apparatus and the method are especially suitable for probing regions in squamous and columnar epithelia to detect and mark regions with cervical cancer or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN).

Measurement support device, endoscope system, processor for endoscope system

The invention aims at providing a measurement support device, an endoscope system, and a processor for an endoscope system capable of displaying an accurate indicator with a simple configuration. In a measurement support device related to one aspect of the invention, the coordinates of a spot, and coordinates of points indicating an actual size of a measurement target in a subject and indicating a circular marker distorted in accordance with distortion aberration of an imaging optical system are stored in association with each other in a storage unit, the coordinates of the points indicating the circular marker are acquired with reference to the storage unit on the basis of the measured coordinates of the spot, and the circular marker is displayed on the basis of the acquired coordinates. Thus, the distance measurement is unnecessary, the configuration is simple, and the processing load is low. Additionally, since the circular marker is displayed in the vicinity of the spot (for example, centering on a spot position), there is little deviation between the spot position and a marker position, the circular marker is accurate as an indicator. Additionally, since the indicator is not widely displayed, there is little processing load.
