Endoscopic instrument and endoscopic instrument system
An endoscopic instrument according to the invention includes an elongate tube, which has an axially continuous and substantially cylindrical main lumen for receiving a shaft of an endoscope lens system, and a tool, which is arranged at a distal end of the tube and can be controlled via an elongate transmission element from a proximal end of the tube, wherein the tube has an axially continuous secondary lumen which adjoins the main lumen in a transverse direction, is connected to the main lumen via a narrowed transition area and receives the transmission element. The invention also relates to an endoscopic instrument system.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL ENCLOSURE FOR MEDICAL PROBES
A multifunctional enclosure is described having an elongated sleeve configured with an enlarged opening for the insertion of an elongated member of a medical probe. The multifunctional enclosure is configured to prevent the elongated member of the medical probe from swinging and becoming damaged during transport. The multifunctional enclosure may further comprise an attachment component for securing the medical probe to the multifunctional enclosure. Furthermore, at least one vent may be configured onto the multifunctional enclosure, such as on a first end closure portion. The vent may allow for adequate flow for sterilization and/or drying.
Endoscope accessory case
An endoscope accessory case includes: a case body made up of a bottom portion and an impermeable trunk portion, the case body including an opening portion provided in a top face, and a fluid introduction port configured to introduce a fluid; and an impermeable lid, the lid including a contact portion configured to come into contact with the case body, and a bubble lead-out edge located at a position apart from an inner circumference of the case body and configured to lead out bubbles separated from endoscope accessories when the endoscope accessories held in the case body are agitated by being pushed by the fluid, the lid being configured to detachably cover the opening portion.
STERILIZATION TRAY
A sterilization tray is disclosed. The sterilization tray comprises a basin and a platter including a depression and a port disposed through a terminal end of the depression. The basin and the platter define a chamber and the port defines a passage into the chamber. An adapter may be connected to the port to facilitate connection of an endoscope thereto. The tray and the endoscope may be disposed in a vacuum chamber of a sterilizer and subject to a sterilization cycle. A pressure differential may be created between the vacuum chamber and the first chamber. A sterilant may be drawn through the insertion tube and into the first chamber. The sterilant may also be drawn through the insertion tube and into the vacuum chamber.
Scope Cleaning Device Configured To Be Removeably Connected to a Surgical Tool
A cleaning device for a surgical tool includes a housing having at least one opening for accessing an interior of the housing; a sponge and a heater assembly positioned in the interior of the housing; and a connector. The connector includes a first arm and a second arm extending from an outer surface of the housing. An inner surface of the first arm and an inner surface of the second arm define at least a first recess sized to receive a sidewall of a first tubular body having a first diameter, and a second recess sized to receive a sidewall of a second tubular body having a second diameter, different than the first diameter. The connector is configured to removably attach the housing to the sidewall of the first tubular body or to the sidewall of the second tubular body to supporting the housing relative to the tubular body.
Medical Tube with Add-on Endoscopic Capabilities
The present invention proposes a method of transforming a traditional, single-use medical tube to a novel one with add-on endoscopic capabilities. A tiny, transparent shell is added at the distal end of the medical tube for containing lighting sources inside, and the lighting source can be any small-size LED, OLED, or LED device. Moreover, the tube has one additional lumen for installing power wires of the lighting sources, and another isolated lumen for inserting a flexible endoscope (video/image camera system) to observe targets inside human body. For minimizing outer diameter and cost, this endoscope does not include any built-in lighting source. While in use, the endoscope is first inserted into the medical tube through its specific lumen, and the lighting source at the tip is on. Secondly, the whole medical tube is safely inserted into human body for diagnosis or treatment with the help of endoscopic videos. In general, the medical tube is disposable, and the endoscope can be reused after proper sterilization procedures.
FLOW RESTRICTOR
An apparatus that assists in sterilizing an endoscope inside a sterilizer employing a gaseous sterilant, e.g., hydrogen peroxide, is disclosed. The apparatus may include a dry booster and a flow restrictor that includes two tubes, which may be connected to channels of an endoscope and the dry booster. The flow restrictor may be used to change the flow rates through the channels to assist in delivering sterilant throughout the channels.
STERILIZATION-ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A sterilization-assistance device is described herein. In some embodiments, the sterilization-assistance device comprises a dry booster and at least one measurement device attached to the dry booster. In various embodiments, the at least one measurement device may include a strain gauge. In various embodiments, the at least one measurement device may include a pressure sensor. In various embodiments, the at least one measurement device may include a pressure sensor and a strain gauge. The sterilization assistance device may also include a communication module. The communication module may be a wireless-communication module. The measurement device may provide indications that the dry booster has become detached from an endoscope during a sterilization procedure.
STERILIZATION PACKAGE
A sterilization package for an endoscope that is described herein. The sterilization package may be used for endoscopes over six feet long. The sterilization package may include a first leg, a second leg connected to the first leg, an opening, and a flap disposed proximate the opening and configured to cover the opening. The package may be 95% by weight of a vapor permeable material. The package, with the endoscope disposed therein, may be coiled and placed into a vacuum chamber of a sterilization system.
