Described are a system, method, and computer program product for tracking endoscopes in a forced-air drying cabinet including a compressor, a support arrangement, and an inner area accessible by a door. The method includes receiving a signal from a signal emitting member attached to or associated with an endoscope and determining an identifier of the endoscope. The method includes determining a drying protocol for the endoscope based on the identifier and identifying the support arrangement, associated with an airflow output, to support the endoscope. The method includes determining a connection status indicative of whether the endoscope has been connected to the airflow output. The method includes, in response to the connection status indicating the endoscope has been connected to the airflow output, initiating a drying process according to the drying protocol for the endoscope by causing the compressor to create an airflow from the airflow output through the endoscope.
Endoscope system having connector
An endoscope system includes an endoscope and a cleaning adapter or connector. The endoscope has a port device or end sleeve, to which the cleaning adapter is coupled. The cleaning adapter includes a connector housing and a coupling sleeve, which has a male tapered portion. The connector housing includes a female thread (fastening device) and a guide surface. The port device includes a flange and a male thread. The guide surface guides the port device by contacting the flange. Thus, a male tapered surface or tapered sealing surface is axially aligned with a female tapered surface or tapered bore surface. The male tapered surface tightly contacts the female tapered surface by threaded engagement between the male and female threads. Accordingly, air-tightness or liquid-tightness can be ensured even in use of a plurality of connectors couplable selectively for connecting a related apparatus.

ENDOSCOPE
An endoscope includes: a connector portion for electrically coupling to an external connector. The connector portion includes: a base portion having a tubular shape; and a tubular sleeve portion extending from the base portion, at least a part of an end portion of the sleeve portion being provided with a cutout portion. When a water-resistant cap is installed at the connector portion, the endoscope takes any state of a first state where an abutting portion of the water-resistant cap configured to abut on the sleeve portion abuts on the sleeve portion on a side of the base portion with respect to the cutout portion to hold an airtightness between the water-resistant cap and the connector portion, and a second state where the abutting portion abuts on or faces the sleeve portion including the cutout portion to make non-airtight between the water-resistant cap and the connector portion.

The present description relates to a disinfection system (300) configured to implement a disinfection cycle of a medical instrument (200) by UV radiation. The disinfection system (300) includes a disinfection chamber (310) configured to receive at least one portion of the medical instrument (200), a suspension means (320) for suspending said at least one portion of the medical instrument (200) in said disinfection chamber (310), a detection device (330) configured to detect, in a predetermined detection area of the disinfection system (300), a marker (210) integral with said medical instrument (200), and a controller (370) configured to generate a non-detection signal in case of non-detection of said marker (210) in said predetermined detection area.
METHOD FOR DRYING A MEDICAL DEVICE
The present invention relates to a method for drying endoscope channels, including the following steps: a) connecting the endoscope, particularly via a specific connection, to a plasma drying unit; b) injecting a neutral gas into the endoscope channels for a duration of 10 to 60 seconds, the flow rate of the gas being low, the gas being injected at a temperature of 10° C. to 30° C. such as to eliminate residual water; then c) drying the endoscope channels, for a duration of 30 to 150 seconds, by injecting a gas at a high flow rate, the gas being injected at a temperature of 30° C. to 60° C.
