A tissue containment system includes a bag body, a member extending from the bag body and defining a channel, and a viewing window. The bag body at least partially defines an interior region configured to contain a loose tissue specimen and defines an opening sized to receive the loose tissue specimen. The bag body is configured such that a first portion of the bag body can be disposed in an abdominal cavity of a patient while a second portion of the bag body extends outside of the patient. The viewing window is at least partially transparent and provides a seal between the interior region of the bag body and an ambient environment. The channel of the member is configured to receive a tissue visualization device that can be used to view the interior region of the containment bag through the viewing window.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WARMING A TIP-PORTION OF AN OPTICAL SCOPE PRIOR TO IN-VIVO USE FOR IMAGING

A method and apparatus for warming an optical scope prior to in-in vivo disposal wherein a thermally conductive material is received into a chamber and is then heated in order to conduct the heat to a tip-portion of the optical scope. A perimeter about tip-portion of the optical scope is sealed to prevent migration of the thermally conductive material through the orifice one the optical scope is inserted into the chamber.

DIRECTED GAS FLOW SURGICAL CANNULA FOR PROVIDING GASES TO A PATIENT

Disclosed herein is a surgical cannula configured as an instrument retaining or centering apparatus, configured for providing insufflation gases to a surgical cavity of a patient (such as the pneumoperitoneum) and allowing insertion of medical instruments into the surgical cavity through the cannula. The cannula can include features to direct gas flow in particular directions to prevent or reduce smoke, fog/condensation, or other unwanted media from contacting a portion of a medical instrument.

DEVICE FOR ANTI-FOG ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM

A device for maintaining an optical path of an optical imaging system free of fog includes an elongated member having a distal end and a proximal end, a near-infrared (NIR) light-absorbing optical window disposed at the distal end, and an optical system disposed along the optical path. The device also includes a coupling module coupled to the elongated member at the proximal end and configured to transmit near-infrared light to the NIR light-absorbing optical window along the optical path and receive a light beam from an area of interest along the optical path.

Device of anti-fogging endoscope system

This disclosure relates to the minimally invasive medical technical field, and specifically, to a device of anti-fogging endoscope system including a beam of a near-infrared light for anti-fogging, which is coupled into an endoscope imaging optical channel in combination coaxially and is transmitted to the front optical window sheet, the visible light passes through the front optical window sheet, and the near-infrared light is absorbed by the absorption characteristics of the front optical window sheet to raise the temperature of the front optical window sheet. The device is also provided with a cut filter for eliminating the impact on image quality caused by the near-infrared stray light, so that the illumination light source of the prior-art endoscope is not necessary to be changed. It is suitable to integrate the coaxial coupling module with a camera handle or adapter and is more convenient to operate the device.

WIPER ASSEMBLY FOR IMAGING ELEMENT CLEANING APPARATUS

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to providing an effective and reliable approach for cleaning an exposed surface of an imaging element (e.g., a lens) of apparatuses including but not limited to medical imaging instruments such as endoscopes and laparoscopes and the like. In the case of medical imaging instruments, cleaning apparatuses configured in accordance with embodiments the present invention can be cleaned while the distal end portion of the endoscope is in vivo. Such apparatuses have a cleaning member incorporated therein (e.g., a resilient polymeric wiper, a sponge, an absorbent pad or the like) that is used for cleaning the exposed surface of the imaging element. The apparatus is preferably adapted for being mounted on imaging apparatus but can also be entirely or partially integral with one or more components of the imaging apparatus or system of which it is a component.

Intraoral scanning device with defogging element and protective sleeve

An intraoral scanning device comprises housing comprising a head configured for insertion into a patient oral cavity, the head comprising a sloped surface and an aperture for transmission of optical signals, a transparent element positioned within the aperture, wherein the transparent element is at an acute angle with respect to the sloped surface, and a defogging unit comprising a heating unit. The intraoral scanning device further comprises a protective sleeve configured to cover at least a part of the head when the protective sleeve is coupled to the housing. The protective sleeve comprises an additional aperture that aligns with the aperture and an additional transparent element in the additional aperture. A gap separates the additional transparent element from the transparent element when the protective sleeve is coupled to the housing, and heat generated by the heating unit is transferred from the heating unit to the additional transparent element despite the gap that separates the additional transparent element from the transparent element.
