Systems and methods for vision testing
A vision testing device includes a light-occluding casing for administering vision tests. A viewing station is coupled to the light-occluding casing so a test subject can see a first digital display housed within the light-occluding casing. A second digital display is external to the light-occluding casing and is configured to receive touch-based input. One or more predetermined vision tests are displayed via the first digital display. The second digital display receives input corresponding to the vision test displayed via the first digital display. The second digital display includes response indicators that can be activated via a swiping motion on the second digital display, and a response is recorded as a result of the swiping motion. Each answer corresponding to a swiping motion is stored and output as a result of the vision test.
Optical coherence tomography-based ophthalmic testing methods, devices and systems
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, an optical coherence tomography-based ophthalmic testing center system includes an optical coherence tomography instrument comprising an eyepiece for receiving at least one eye of a user or subject; a light source that outputs light that is directed through the eyepiece into the user's or subject's eye, an interferometer configured to produce optical interference using light reflected from the user's/subject's eye, an optical detector disposed so as to detect said optical interference; and a processing unit coupled to the detector. The ophthalmic testing center system can be configured to perform a multitude of self-administered functional and/or structural ophthalmic tests and output the test data.
OPHTHALMOLOGIC APPARATUS AND MEASUREMENT METHOD USING THE SAME
An ophthalmologic apparatus includes a visual target projection system that is configured to present a visual target to a subject eye at a predetermined examination distance under a presentation condition according to the examination distance, and a controller that is configured to control the visual target projection system. The controller is configured to control the visual target projection system to present the visual target at a first examination distance for a far-point examination of the subject eye, a second examination distance for a near-point examination of the subject eye, and at least one third examination distance different from the first examination distance and the second examination distance.
DIGITAL VISUAL ACUITY EYE EXAMINATION FOR REMOTE PHYSICIAN ASSESSMENT
Systems and methods for assessing the visual acuity of person using a computerized consumer device are described. The approach involves determining a separation distance between a human user and the consumer device based on an image size of a physical feature of the user, instructing the user to adjust the separation between the user and the consumer device until a predetermined separation distance range is achieved, presenting a visual acuity test to the user including displaying predetermined optotypes for identification by the user, recording the user's spoken identifications of the predetermined optotypes and providing real-time feedback to the user of detection of the spoken indications by the consumer device, carrying out voice recognition on the spoken identifications to generate corresponding converted text, comparing recognized words of the converted text to permissible words corresponding to the predetermined optotypes, determining a score based on the comparison, and determining whether the person passed the visual acuity test.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING REFRACTION FEATURES OF BOTH FIRST AND SECOND EYES OF A SUBJECT
A system for determining refraction features of both first and second eyes of a subject including a light field display device, a system of localization of the positions of the first and second eyes of the subject, the light field display device generating a first light field directed selectively toward the first eye, and, respectively, a second light field directed selectively toward the second eye, control circuitry that adjusts the first light field as a function of at least a first refraction parameter associated with at least a first optical aberration for the first eye and the control circuitry adjusting said second light field as a function of at least a second refraction parameter associated with at least a second optical aberration for the second eye.
METHOD FOR DISPLAYING A SHARP IMAGE ON A RETINA OF AN EYE OF THE PERSON
The invention relates to a method for displaying a sharp image on a retina of an eye of the person, the person having a prescription for the eye of the person, the method comprising: providing at least one optical parameter relative to the prescription for the eye of the person; providing a plurality of initial sub-images, each initial sub-image corresponding to at least a part of the image to be displayed; providing a plurality of light beams configured to be focused substantially in the plane of a pupil of the eye at a plurality of corresponding different positions, each light beam being configured to carry an associated sub-image; for each sub-image, adapting the sub-image based on the at least one provided optical parameter and on the corresponding focused position of the light beam configured to carry the sub-image to form an adapted sub-image; and displaying each adapted sub-image carried by the associated light beam on the retina of the person.
PNEUMATIC ESTHESIOMETER WITH GAS PULSE-CONDITIONER
A pneumatic esthesiometer adapted for measuring tactile sensitivity of a patient eye may include a pressurized gas supply system, a control system, and a pulse-conditioner. The pressurized gas supply system is configured to provide a flow of pressurized gases. The control system is configured to control the flow of pressurized gases.
Device and method for capturing, analyzing, and sending still and video images of the fundus during examination using an ophthalmoscope
The present invention is directed to a medical imaging binocular indirect ophthalmoscope with onboard sensor array and computational processing unit, enabling simultaneous or time-delayed viewing and collaborative review of photographs or videos from an eye examination. The invention also claims a method for photographing and integrating information associated with the images, videos, or other data generated from the eye examination.
EYE EXAMINATION APPARATUS WITH CAMERAS AND DISPLAY
Disclosed is an eye examination apparatus that can be used in professional settings. The eye examination apparatus has a body having a first eye opening and a second eye opening for a user to see into the eye examination apparatus using two eyes. The eye examination apparatus also has a first camera coupled to the body and positioned to acquire ophthalmic images through the first eye opening, and a second camera coupled to the body and positioned to acquire ophthalmic images through the second eye opening. The eye examination apparatus also has at least one display coupled to the body and positioned to be viewable through the first eye opening and the second eye opening.
Biometric patient identity verification system
A system for determining identification of a patient communicating over a computer network with a medical provider with certainty is provided using biometric data captured by said medical provider with subsequent biometric data generated by biometric sensors proximal to a patient. Using previously captured biometric information concerning physical characteristics unique to the patient and comparing such to subsequently generated biometric data from the patient, a medical provider can determine the identity of a patient attempting communication over a computer network with the medical provider.
