VISION TESTING VIA PREDICTION-BASED SETTING OF INITIAL STIMULI CHARACTERISTICS FOR USER INTERFACE LOCATIONS
Methods and systems for dynamically determining stimuli characteristics for vision defect determination during a vision test. The methods and systems convert the feedback received from the binary suprathreshold test into a feature input that is provided to a prediction model. The prediction model may be trained to predict non-binary characteristics for sets of locations and confidence scores associated with the sets of locations based on feedback indicating binary characteristics under which users see one or more stimuli presented on user interfaces.
Methods and diagnostic tools for measuring visual noise-based contrast sensitivity
Methods and diagnostic tools are provided for assessing contrast sensitivity in a subject in the presence and absence of luminance noise by: i) presenting to the subject a series of scenes, each scene comprising at least a first target having a preselected level of contrast superimposed on a uniform background and a second target having a preselected level of contrast superimposed on a luminance noise background, wherein in each successively presented scene the first and second targets that are superimposed on the uniform background and on the luminance noise background, respectively, have contrast levels that are different from the contrast levels of the first and second targets superimposed on the uniform background and on the luminance noise background, respectively, in the previously presented scene; ii) monitoring responses by the subject to step i); and iii) evaluating the contrast sensitivity of the subject based on the monitored responses.
Photobleaching method
The present disclosure provides an improved method for photobleaching an eye of a subject. The disclosed method may be used in a number of psychophysical test methods, including, but not limited to, measurement of dark adaptation. The improved method for photobleaching involves at least one of the following improvements: (i) the use of a bleaching light emitting a particular wavelength of light or a tailored spectrum of wavelengths; (ii) restricting or otherwise spatially tailoring the region of the retina that is subject to photobleaching; and (iii) utilizing a bleaching light having an intensity that is at or below the intensity of ambient daylight. The present disclosure additionally provides a combination of a photobleaching light and an apparatus to administer a psychophysical test suitable for use in practicing the disclosed methods.
Dynamic eye condition self-diagnosis
Facilitation of dynamic eye condition self-diagnosis is provided. A system can include a memory and a processor that executes computer executable components. The computer executable components can include: a status component that determines attributes of a user; a visualization component that generates a set of visualizations including at least one of: moving text, moving images or video; a test component that generates a set of tests using a subset of the set of visualizations; an assessment component that assesses an ability of the user to identify the subset of the set of visualizations displayed by the set of tests; and a vision scoring component that scores a vision of the user to generate a vision score, wherein the vision score is based upon an assessment of the ability of the user to identify the displayed subset of the set of visualizations and the attributes of the user.
SPLIT VISION VISUAL TEST
Embodiments of the invention are directed towards systems, methods and computer program products for providing improved eye tests. Such tests improve upon current eye tests, such as visual acuity tests, by incorporating virtual reality, software mediated guidance to the patient or practitioner such that more accurate results of the eye tests are obtained. Furthermore, through the use of one or more trained machine learning or predictive analytic systems, multiple signals obtained from sensors of a testing apparatus are evaluated to ensure that the eye test results are less error-prone and provide a more consistent evaluation of a user's vision status. As it will be appreciated, such error reduction and user guidance systems represent technological improvements in eye tests and utilize non-routine and non-conventional approaches to the improvement and reliability of eye tests.
Method and system for generating a retail experience using an augmented reality system
An augmented reality AR system and method for a retail experience include a waveguide apparatus that includes a planar waveguide and at least one optical diffraction element The AR retail system and method recognizes user location in a retail establishment, retrieves data corresponding to the retail establishment and generates virtual content relating to the retail establishment based on the retrieved data. The AR retail system and method creates a virtual user interface in a user's field of view. Virtual content is displayed on the virtual user interface while the user is engaged in retail activity and may be based on user input. The AR retail system and method may provide entertainment, facilitate the shopping experience, offer virtual coupons, render games based on locations throughout a store or based on a shopping list, provide information about food choices such as calorie counts, and identify metadata associated with items.

System and method for the rapid measurement of the visual contrast sensitivity function
A computer, a high resolution monitor and a patient interface is utilized to implement a visual contrast sensitivity function measurement test. More specifically, a computerized video system is configured to implement a tilted-grating forced choice contrast sensitivity function test. The invention utilizes known measurement methods for the visual contrast sensitivity function and automates their use by computerizing the system and couples it with a patient-interactive user interface in order to produce an accurate quantitative result.
Pixelated, full-field multi-protocol stimulus source apparatus, method and system for probing visual pathway function
A pixel light source apparatus, system and method are disclosed for a stimulus source for visual pathway testing. A representative system includes a plurality of pixel light sources and a control and driver circuit. The pixel light sources are coupled to each other to form a partially-spherical dome, with each pixel light source arranged to emit light directed to a convergent location of the partially-spherical dome. The control and driver circuit implements a selected stimulus protocol to selectively energize each pixel light source to generate light stimulation to any arbitrary or selected portion of the retina of an eye of a human subject.
