Systems, Methods and Devices for Monitoring Eye Movement to Test a Visual Field
20170265737 · 2017-09-21 ·

A method for evaluating retinal function and testing the visual field of a patient by monitoring how the patient tracks a target image on a display that comprises displaying the target image on the display such that it is located at a first position on the display and visible to the patient. The process continues by identifying what portion of the display the patient is looking at, selecting a location of the patient's retina to test, and calculating, based at least in part on what portion of the display the patient is looking at, a second position on the display corresponding to the selected location of the patient's retina. The target image is displayed at the second position on the display and the process identifies how many eye movements the patient made to look at the target at the second position. Based at least in part on the number of eye movements, the process determines whether the patient was able to see the target at the second position.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR TESTING VISUAL FUNCTION AND FUNCTIONAL VISION AT VARYING LUMINANCE LEVELS

A test of visual function and/or functional vision may be performed at varying luminance levels. A first course may be selected for a subject. A given course may comprise a layout having a beginning point, at least one turn, at least one obstacle, and an ending point. The first course may be illuminated with a first luminance level based on an estimated lower light sensitivity cutoff. The subject may be prompted to perform a first run of the test. The test may comprise, from the beginning point to the ending point, navigating the layout of the first course by walking around the at least one turn and avoiding the at least one obstacle. A determination may be made as to whether the subject successfully completed the first course based on one or both of speed or accuracy.

A method of determining that an absence of suspicion of neurological injury is indicated in a subject is disclosed. The method involves prompting the subject to engage in three or more of the following neurological assessments: a) Reading Saccades, b) Near/far accommodation using Hart charts of different font sizes; c) Brock string, d) Maddox rod, e) closed-eye turns, f) Near Point of Convergence, and g) PERRLA with consensual reflex. The data from the neurological assessments is used to determine that an absence of suspicion of neurological injury is indicated in the subject.

Vision test for determining retinal disease progression

The present invention provides a reading test to measure vision loss. In one embodiment, the vision loss is due to disease progression. The tests are useful in evaluating the effects of intervention in vision deterioration. The tests are non-invasive, simple, quick, sensitive, reproducible, and easy to administer. The tests measure the subject's reading speed and accuracy under defined conditions of illumination and contrast. The results of these tests may be used to determine if treatment of a disease should be initiated, terminated, altered, or remain unchanged.

COLOR VISION VARIABILITY TEST SYSTEM
20210386284 · 2021-12-16 ·

The present invention relates to a test system for assessing color vision variability of test persons (7). The test system comprises at least two test carriers (1), wherein each of the at least two test carriers (1) is provided with a two-dimensional pattern (4) including a background (2) and a plurality of samples (3). The plurality of samples (3) and the background (2) of each one of the at least two test carriers (1) are made of at least two different dyestuff combinations representing metameric colors. The samples (3) and/or the background (2) show color scaling in at least two directions such that each one of the at least two test carriers (1) is configured to provide that a test person (7) can select a spot (PIS.sub.C) from the two-dimensional pattern (4) where the metameric colors of the samples (3) and the background (2) match best. The system further comprises a test illuminant unit (5) configured to provide light for the color vision variability assessment, the light having a specific spectral power distribution. The system further comprises a processing unit (6) configured to predict a color matching function and/or to determine a congenital and/or acquired color vision deficiency of the test person (7) by calculating a variation of the spot (PIS.sub.C) selected by the test person (7) as compared to a spot (PIS.sub.B) computed by the processing unit (6) based on data of a predefined standard observer considering the specific spectral power distribution of the light of the test illuminant unit (5).
