Joint determination of accommodation and vergence

Methods and apparatuses for joint determination of accommodation and vergence of at least one eye of a user are disclosed. The joint determination includes determining an accommodation of the eye of the user and ascertaining values for checking myopia of the eye by presenting a sign at a first distance in front of the eye to stimulate the accommodation of the eye; capturing an eye movement; ascertaining a refraction of the eye with the accommodation of the eye at the first distance; and joint determination of accommodation and vergence of the eye by ascertaining a change in the refraction of the eye with the accommodation of the eye at the first distance in relation to the accommodation of the eye at a second distance; and ascertaining the vergence of the eye from the eye movement of the eye with the accommodation of the eye at the first distance.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING A SPECIFIC NEAR VISION POWER OF AN OPHTHALMIC LENS

Disclosed is a method for determining a specific near vision power of an ophthalmic lens to be provided to a wearer having an ophthalmic prescription, the specific near vision power being for near distance vision, the method including: an ophthalmic lens providing step during which at least an ophthalmic lens having a near distance vision zone including a mean power adapted for near distance vision is provided to the wearer; a near vision task speed determining step during which the processing speed of a near vision task by the wearer when wearing the provided ophthalmic lens is determined; wherein the ophthalmic lens providing step and the near vision task speed determining step are repeated with ophthalmic lenses having different mean power, so as to determine a specific near vision power corresponding to the mean power providing an improved near vision task processing speed.

A vision training device includes a main body, a lens unit, a drive motor, and a controller. The lens unit includes a plurality of lenses respectively having different diopter values and a lens holder that supports the lenses. The drive motor moves the lens holder so that one of the lenses of the lens unit is disposed on a line of sight axis. The controller controls the drive motor such that a test lens selected from the plurality of lenses is disposed on the line of sight axis and stores an accommodation time indicating a period of time in which the eye becomes in an accommodated state to the test lens.

System for Measuring Clinical Parameters of Visual Function

The measurement system comprises a first display unit configured to represent a scene wherein at least one 2D/3D object has variable characteristics for instilling a visual response in the user, wherein said variable characteristics include at least the virtual position and virtual volume of the 2D/3D object within the scene; an interface configured to enable user interaction; processing means configured to analyze the user response based on the association of data from the interface with varying characteristics of the 2D/3D object represented in the display unit and estimating a plurality of clinical parameters of the user's visual function, and a second display unit also configured to represent a scene wherein the at least one 2D/3D object has variable characteristics for instilling a visual response in the user.

APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR OBJECTIVELY ASSESSING ACCOMMODATION IN AN EYE

Disclosed are apparatus, systems, and methods for objectively assessing accommodation in an eye. For example, a method for objectively assessing accommodation can comprise displaying, at a far display, a stimulus target for a first duration and displaying, at a near display, the stimulus target for a second duration. The stimulus target displayed at the near display can be projected onto a first beam splitter positioned at an oblique angle with respect to the near display. The stimulus target displayed on the far display can be axially aligned with the stimulus target projected onto the first beam splitter. The method can also comprise obtaining, at a controller, measurements concerning refractive states of the eye during the first duration and the second duration from a refractor device in communication with the controller and determining, using the controller, an accommodative response of the eye based in part on the respective refractive states.

Measurement method for the determination of a value of a visual correction need for near vision of an individual

Disclosed is a measurement method for determining a value of a visual correction need for near vision of an individual in a natural posture for near vision. A recognizing limit distance is determined so that the individual is able to recognize at least one predetermined symbol farther than the limit distance relatively to the individual and unable to recognize the at least one predetermined symbol closer to the individual than the limit distance. A portable medium displaying the predetermined symbol is displaced in front of the face and eyes of the individual to change a frontal distance between his/her eyes and the portable medium and in which when a recognizing limit distance is detected by the individual, the limit distance is measured and the value of the visual correction need is determined from the measured limit distance, wherein the visual correction need includes an accommodation compensation need.
