Compounds and salts of Formula I are useful as inhibitors of RAF kinase dimerization, including dimerization of wild type and mutant BRAF kinases. The disclosure includes pharmaceutical compositions comprising a compound or salt of Formula I. The disclosure also includes methods of treating a cancer susceptible to treatment with an inhibitor of BRAF dimers or BRAF dimerization, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a compound or salt of Formula I to a patient in need of such treatment. These cancers susceptible to treatment with an inhibitor of BRAF dimers or BRAF dimerization include melanoma, thyroid cancer, hairy cell leukemia, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer.

In addition, the methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution comprises methylmorpholine-N-oxide and water. The method further comprises contacting the methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution with the contaminated water. In addition, the method comprises treating the contaminated water by allowing the methylmorpholine-N-oxide to react with the contaminants in the presence of the iron oxide.

The present invention provides a process for preparing rivaroxaban of formula I, the process comprising: reacting a compound of formula VI with a base in the presence of a solvent to form a compound of formula VII; and condensing the compound of formula VII with a compound of formula VIII or a compound of formula IX in the presence of a solvent to prepare rivaroxaban of formula I, wherein the solvent used in both steps comprises water.
