Provided are a concentration measuring method of an optically active substance and a concentration measuring device of an optically active substance, which can easily and accurately measure a concentration of the optically active substance in aqueous humor. The concentration measuring method of an optically active substance includes: a first step of measuring a polarization state of a first reflected light that is obtained by irradiating an aqueous humor in an eye with an incidence light which is polarized and reflecting the incidence light at an interface between the aqueous humor and a lens, in which the polarization state of the first reflected light is measured by irradiating a first incidence light such that an angle between a normal line to a point where the incidence light intersects a surface of the lens, and the incidence light is equal to or smaller than a Brewster angle; a second step of measuring a polarization state of a second reflected light by irradiating with a second incidence light such that an angle of the incidence light is equal to or larger than the Brewster angle; a third step of calculating an optical rotation of the aqueous humor with information on the polarization state of the first reflected light and information on the polarization state of the second reflected light; and a fourth step of calculating a concentration of an optically active substance in the aqueous humor from the optical rotation of the aqueous humor.

Systems and methods automatically locate optical surfaces of an eye and automatically generate surface models of the optical surfaces. A method includes OCT scanning of an eye. Returning portions of a sample beam are processed to locate a point on the optical surface and first locations on the optical surface within a first radial distance of the point. A first surface model of the optical surface is generated based on the location of the point and the first locations. Returning portions of the sample beam are processed so as to detect second locations on the optical surface beyond the first radial distance and within a second radial distance from the point. A second surface model of the optical surface is generated based on the location of the point on the optical surface and the first and second locations on the optical surface.

METHOD FOR ASCERTAINING PHYSIOLOGICALLY CORRECT BIOMETRIC DATA OF AN EYE

A method for collecting biometric measurement data of an eye on the basis of different measurement modalities, allowing for physiologically correct, representative, and robust biometric measurement data. In the method, the measurement data for individual measurement variables and the dynamic behavior of the eye are recorded continuously at the highest possible repetition rate over the measurement time. The individual phases of the dynamics of the eye which define the limits of the phase for stable vision are analyzed on the basis of the measurement values, and only the measurement data for the individual measurement variables are output which have been detected during the phase for stable vision. Although the proposed method is provided for collecting biometric measurement data in preparation for a cataract operation, the method can also be applied to other areas of ophthalmology to generate error-free measurement data or recordings of the eye.
