A contact arrangement for an eye examining instrument is located between an eye that is examined and a section of the eye examining instrument, the section is directed toward the eye that is examined. The contact arrangement is disposable, biocompatible with skin and made of biodegradable material. A first side of the contact arrangement is set in contact with the skin around the eye that is examined. A second side of the contact arrangement is attached with a counterpart of the eye examining instrument in a tool-free manner without touching with hands to the contact arrangement, the attachment being releasable, at the section, which is directed toward the eye that is examined.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOCATING A SURFACE OF OCULAR TISSUE FOR GLAUCOMA SURGERY BASED ON DUAL AIMING BEAMS

A target surface in an eye is located using a dual aiming beam apparatus that transmits a first aiming beam of light and a second aiming beam of light. An optics subsystem receives a laser beam from a laser source, the first aiming beam of light, and the second aiming beam of light, and directs the beams of light to be incident with the target surface and aligns the beams of light such that they intersect at a point corresponding to a focus of the laser beam. An imaging apparatus captures an image of the target surface including a first spot corresponding to the first aiming beam of light and a second spot corresponding to a second aiming beam of light. A separation between the spots indicates that the focus is away from the target surface, while overlapping spots indicate the focus is at or on the target surface.

Imaging device

There is provided an imaging device (100) for imaging a target, the imaging device (100) comprising a Scheimpflug imaging system (102) and an Optical Coherence Tomography, OCT, imaging system (104), where the Scheimpflug imaging system (102) comprises a camera (112) and a lens system (108), and the OCT imaging system (104) comprises an imaging optical element and a detector (122). The imaging device (100) further comprises a light source (106) adapted to provide a light beam suitable for operation of the Scheimpflug imaging system (102) and the OCT imaging system (104). The lens system (108) of the Scheimpflug imaging (102) system is configured to provide an adjustable focal length.

BI-RADIAL PATIENT INTERFACE

A patient interface for an ophthalmic system can include an attachment portion, configured to attach the patient interface to a distal end of the ophthalmic system; a contact portion, configured to dock the patient interface to an eye; and a contact element, coupled to the contact portion, configured to contact a surface of a cornea of the eye as part of the docking of the patient interface to the eye, and having a central portion with a central radius of curvature Rc and a peripheral portion with a peripheral radius of curvature Rp, wherein Rc is smaller than Rp.

METHOD OF QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS AND IMAGING OF THE ANTERIOR SEGMENT OF THE EYE
20230123560 · 2023-04-20 ·

What is provided are methods of analyzing at least one image of the anterior segment of an eye and for selecting an intraocular lens (IOL). The methods may include detecting at least one image from an anterior segment of the eye; identifying a location of a reference structure on the eye using a plurality of points of a landmark on the anterior segment of the eye; and calculating at least one quantitative dimension of the anterior segment of the eye using the reference structure. The newly identified landmarks and quantifiable dimensions improve the characterization of the anterior segment in order to better predict the position and movement of the intraocular lens. The improved methods for analyzing the imaging of the anterior segment of the eye allows for improvements in the refractive outcomes of cataract surgery, glaucoma procedures, refractive outcomes, and other eye-related diseases.
