Quantitative intramolecular fission in oligoacenes, materials, and methods of use thereof
The present invention provides soluble, stable singlet fission (SF) compounds, compositions, materials, methods of their use, and methods for their preparation that provide efficient intramolecular singlet fission (iSF) and multiple excitons. The SF compound may be a dimer, an oligomer, or a polymer of polyoligoacenes, where for example, the compound achieves a triplet yield reaching about 200% per absorbed photon. In this system, SF does not depend on intermolecular inter-actions. Instead, SF is an intrinsic property of the molecule and therefore occurs independent of intermolecular interactions. Singlet fission has the potential to significantly improve the photocurrent in single junction solar cells and thus raise the Shockley-Queisser power conversion efficiency limit from about 33% to about 46% or greater. Quantitative SF yield at room temperature has only been observed in crystalline solids or aggregates of higher acenes.

The present disclosure provides boron-containing diacylhydrazines having Formula I:

The present invention provides a compound that thickens or gels a fluid organic substance to a desired viscosity, or uniformly stabilizes a composition containing a fluid organic substance. The compound of the present invention is a compound represented by Formula (1) below: wherein, R.sup.1 represents a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 4 or more carbons; R.sup.2 represents a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 12 carbons; R.sup.3 represents a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 12 carbons; m represents an integer from 0 to 10; and n represents an integer from 1 to 4; in a case where n is 1 or 2, (4n) R.sup.1s may be the same or different; and in a case where n is from 2 to 4, n R.sup.2s, n R.sup.3s, and n m's each may be the same or different.

An interconnect structure includes a metal interconnect layer, a dielectric layer on the metal interconnect layer, a fluorocarbon layer on the dielectric layer, a metal interconnect extending through the fluorocarbon layer and the dielectric layer to the metal interconnect layer. A method for producing an alkenyl or alkynyl-containing organosilicon precursor composition, the method comprising the steps of distilling at least once a composition comprising an alkenyl or alkynyl-containing organosilicon compound having the formula R.sub.nSiR.sup.1.sub.4n wherein R is selected a linear or branched C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 alkenyl group, a linear or branched C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 alkynyl group; R.sup.1 is selected from hydrogen, a linear or branched C.sub.1 to C.sub.10 alkyl group, and a C.sub.3 to C.sub.10 cyclic alkyl group; and n is a number selected from 1 to 4, wherein a distilled alkenyl or alkynyl-containing organosilicon precursor composition is produced after distilling; and packaging the distilled alkenyl or alkynyl-containing organosilicon precursor composition in a container, wherein the container permits transmission into the container of no more than 10% of ultraviolet and visible light having a wavelength of between 290 nm to 450 nm.
