COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF TUBERCULOSIS

A human antibody comprising an antigen binding domain which binds PstS1 of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) for use in preventing or treating TB infection in a subject in need thereof is provided. Also provided are vaccine compositions and conjugates of such antibodies.

Vaccines for the Treatment and Prevention of Zoonotic Infections

The invention relates to compositions comprising a nucleic acid that encodes a peptide or a peptide that induces an immune response in an animal or a mammal that is protective against infection by one or more pathogens. In addition, the invention relates to vaccines comprising compositions and to method for treating and preventing an infection in animals and mammals such as humans.

Anti-LAM and anti-PIM6/LAM monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis and treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections

The present invention broadly provides different compositions, kits, vectors, and methods including monoclonal antibodies directed to epitopes found within lipoarabinomannan (LAM) and phosphatidyl-myo-inositol mannoside 6 (PIM6) for the diagnosis and treatment of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections.

A method of diagnosing or monitoring Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) infection, which method comprises detecting the presence of the polypeptide (MAP P900) encoded by the positive strand of IS900, or a fragment thereof, in a sample from a subject, wherein MAP P900, or a fragment thereof, is detected using an antibody, or an antigen-binding fragment thereof, that binds to MAP P900.

METHODS FOR DUAL DETECTION AND DIFFERENTIATION OF INFECTION BY MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS COMPLEX AND NONTUBERCULOUS MYCOBACTERIA

This disclosure provides novel binary and ternary diagnostic tests with improved sensitivity and specificity for the presence of antigenic derivatives of lipo arabino mannan (LAM) present in biological fluids (e.g., sputum, serum, urine) of subjects infected with various mycobacterial pathogens, including M. tb and NTMs. The disclosed diagnostic tests detect and differentiate infection by Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) and nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTMs). The diagnostic tests detect different forms of LAM in the sample of patients, using capture antibodies that are either specific for TB, specific for NTMs or crossreactive with all forms of LAM, in conjunction with high-affinity species-specific or crossreactive detection antibodies.

Immunogenic Compositions to Treat and Prevent Microbial Infections

The invention relates to composite antigens comprising a peptide with contiguous amino acid sequence derived from a plurality of antigenic epitopes of one or more pathogens that induces an immune response in a mammal that is protective against infection by the one or more pathogens. In addition. The invention also relates to antibodies to composite antigens of the invention and to methods of administering vaccines comprising antigens or vaccines of antibodies for treating and/or preventing an infection.

IMMUNOCHROMATOGRAPHIC KIT AND METHOD FOR DETECTING MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS

An object of the present invention is to provide an immunochromatographic kit and a method, which are capable of detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis with high-sensitivity and specificity. According to the present invention, an immunochromatographic kit for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis is provided, the kit including: a label substance modified with a first antibody against lipoarabinomannan; a porous carrier having a reaction site holding a second antibody against lipoarabinomannan; a compound containing silver; and a reducing agent reducing silver ions, in which at least one of the first antibody or the second antibody is a monoclonal antibody.

Mycobacterial antigen composition

The present invention provides an antigenic composition for use as a mycobacterial vaccine, said composition comprising (i) a first mycobacterial antigenic polypeptide, wherein said first mycobacterial antigenic polypeptide comprises a polypeptide sequence having at least 70% amino acid sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6, 12, 2, 18, 8, 10, 16, 4, or a fragment thereof having at least 50 consecutive amino acids thereof; or (ii) a first mycobacterial polynucleotide, wherein said first mycobacterial polynucleotide comprises a polynucleotide sequence encoding said first mycobacterial antigenic polypeptide, or wherein said first mycobacterial polynucleotide comprises a polynucleotide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO: 5, 11, 1, 17, 7, 9, 15, 3.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF IMMUNODEFICIENCY

The present invention relates to compositions and methods for the treatment of immunodeficiency (e.g., primary immunodeficiency disease). In particular, the invention provides human plasma immunoglobulin compositions containing select antibody titers specific for a plurality of respiratory pathogens, methods of identifying human donors and donor samples for use in the compositions, methods of manufacturing the compositions, and methods of utilizing the compositions (e.g., for prophylactic administration and/or therapeutic treatment (e.g., passive immunization (e.g., immune-prophylaxis))).
