Provided is means capable of reducing the adsorptivity to plastics while suppressing a decrease in intracellular uptake efficiency in an amphiphilic compound that can be applied to long-term blood-retaining liposomes or the like as a drug carrier. The above problem can be solved by an amphiphilic compound comprising a moiety (I) including a constitutional unit (A) derived from a monomer (a) having two or more hydroxyl groups and having 2 to 10 carbon atoms constituting the side chain among the carbon atoms of the constitutional unit, and a hydrocarbon group having 8 or more carbon atoms.

Graft copolymer, and thermoplastic resin composition using same

A graft copolymer (B-III) includes a rubbery polymer (A-III) that is a miniemulsion polymerization reaction product of an alkyl (meth)acrylate; and at least one monomer selected from aromatic vinyl compounds, (meth)acrylic acid esters, and vinyl cyanide compounds graft-polymerized onto the rubbery polymer (A-III).

Polymerizable compound, and liquid crystal composition and liquid crystal display element in which the compound is used

The compound is represented by general formula (i). In the compound, in a group K.sup.i1, at least two secondary carbon atoms in an alkyl group (a linear alkyl, halogenated alkyl, or cyanogenated alkyl group having 3 to 40 carbon atoms) are replaced with —C(═X.sup.i1)— and/or —CH(—CN)—, where X.sup.i1 is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, NH, or NR.sup.13; in addition, a group A.sup.i2, a group A.sup.i3, or the group K.sup.i1 includes, as a substituent, at least one P.sup.i1-Sp.sup.i1- group, where P.sup.i1 is a polymerizable group, and SP.sup.i1 is a spacer group or a single bond. The liquid crystal composition including the compound represented by general formula (i) can be adsorbed onto substrates between which a liquid crystal layer is held, and, consequently, without the use of an alignment film, liquid crystal molecules can be maintained in a state in which the liquid crystal molecules are aligned in a vertical direction. ##STR00001##

Thermoplastic poly acrylated glycerol adhesives useful in cellulosic products

The present invention relates to an adhesive comprising a thermoplastic polyacrylated glycerol polymer, water, and a cross linker that is reactive with the polyacrylated glycerol polymer. This adhesive is useful in the formation of cellulosic products including oriented strand board (OSB), particle board, oriented structural straw board, chipboard, plywood, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), pressed wood, glued laminated timber (glulam), cross-laminated timber (CLT), and other wood products. Methods of producing the adhesive and cellulosic products are also disclosed.

(METH)ACRYLATE FUNCTIONAL DISPERSANT
20230295353 · 2023-09-21 ·

A (meth)acrylate functional copolymer is useful as a dispersant for solid particulates in paints, inks and coatings. The copolymers have (meth)acrylate functionality positioned pendant to the polymer chain. Also positioned pendant to the polymer backbone chain are non-(meth)acrylate-functional hydrophobic and/or hydrophilic pendant groups. The copolymers are useful as dispersants in dispersions of particulate solids in organic media and aqueous media, such in paints and printing inks.
