Liquid crystal aligning agent containing crosslinking agent and polymer that has site having isocyanate group and/or blocked isocyanate group and site having photoreactivity, liquid crystal alignment film, and liquid crystal display element
Provided is a liquid crystal display element that can be baked at a low temperature when forming a liquid crystal alignment film capable of imparting an alignment regulating property and a pretilt angle developing property via a photoalignment method. Further provided is a liquid crystal display element in which the liquid crystal pretilt angles are highly stable, and display burn-in hardly occurs even due to long usage. Further provided are a vertical liquid crystal alignment film to be used in the liquid crystal display element, and a liquid crystal aligning agent with which it is possible to provide the vertical liquid crystal alignment film. A liquid crystal aligning agent of the present invention contains: component (A), which is a polymer including (A-1) a site having an isocyanate group and/or a blocked isocyanate group and (A-2) a site having photoreactivity; component (B), which is a compound having, in a molecule, at least two functional groups of at least one type selected from the group consisting of an amino group and a hydroxyl group; and an organic solvent.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GRAFT POLYMER, GRAFT POLYMER, AND INITIATOR OF GRAFT POLYMER
A method for manufacturing a graft polymer, that ensures more stable progress of a living radical polymerization by using a monomer structural unit containing an iodine initiating group as an initiator, includes performing a living radical polymerization of a compound with a vinyl monomer by an organic catalyst to manufacture the graft polymer. The compound has a recurring unit represented by a formula (1) below in a main chain:

Compositions for forming polymer brushes
The present invention relates to novel chemical solutions suitable for forming polymer brushes on a surface of a solid part. The present invention further relates to methods of forming polymer brushes on the surface of a solid part using the novel chemical solutions as well as solid parts having polymer brushes coated onto the surface and uses of such solid parts.
Method of recovering extracellular vesicles and container for extracellular vesicles
A coating agent for preventing the adsorption of extracellular vesicles represented by exosomes to a tool has been developed. Adsorption of extracellular vesicles to a tool can be prevented by using a coating agent which contains a hydrophilic polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 or more and 1,000,000 or less, wherein a coated layer formed by the coating agent has a contact angle of 0 degree or more and 30 degrees or less.
Enhancing performance stability of electroactive polymers by vapor-deposited organic networks
Disclosed are compositions of electroactive polymers (EAPs) having improved performance stability. In the EAP compositions, a cross-linked polymer is deposited onto the surface of the EAP by vapor-deposition methods. Upon contact with an aqueous solution (e.g., an aqueous electrolyte solution), the vapor-deposited polymeric network becomes a hydrogel that encapsulates the EAPs. By modulating precursors and vapor deposition conditions, the mesh size of the resultant hydrogel coatings can be controlled to accommodate the key species that interact with the EAPs.
