A composition of matter including a mother solution; an organic ester; an additive agent and deionized water. The mother solution includes a rare earth compound or a metal compound, an organic acid, an organic amine, and deionized water. Also provided is a method of preparing the composition of matter. The method includes: 1) heating deionized water to a temperature of 50-60° C.; adding an organic acid to the deionized water, allowing to dissolve, followed by addition of a rare earth compound or a metal compound, 2-4 hours later, adding an organic amine, heating to a temperature of 70-80° C. and holding; cooling and filtering to yield a mother solution; 2) mixing the mother solution, deionized water, and a catalyst; vacuumizing a resulting mixture, heating the mixture to a temperature of 95-125° C. and holding, following by addition of a polymerization inhibitor and an organic ester; 2-4 hours later, cooling, standing, separating.

CHLORINATED VINYL CHLORIDE-BASED RESIN

The present invention provides a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin that enables the production of a molded article that maintains high adhesion strength even when used in a form subjected to high pressure and is less susceptible to defects such as cracks due to insufficient strength, as well as a resin composition for molding and a molded article each including the chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin. Provided is a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin having an average of a ratio (A/B) of a peak intensity A observed in a range of 300 to 340 cm.sup.-1 to a peak intensity B observed in a range of 1,450 to 1,550 cm.sup.-1 of 0.1 or more and 3.5 or less in Raman imaging measurement by Raman spectroscopy.

WATER-REPELLENT COMPOSITION

A water-repellent composition containing (1) a polymer having 2-100 wt %, with respect to the polymer, of a repeating unit derived from an amide group-containing monomer (a) represented by the following formula

[wherein R.sup.1 is an organic moiety having an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable group, R.sup.2 is a C.sub.7-30 hydrocarbon group, and R.sup.3 is a C.sub.1-5 hydrocarbon group], (2) a co-agent containing at least one co-agent compound selected from the group consisting of a blocked isocyanate compound, a melamine resin, a silicone polymer, a wax, an acetylene-based emulsifier, and a polyoxyalkylene group-containing emulsifier, and (3) a liquid media. Preferably, the water-repellent composition includes no fluoroalkyl group-containing monomer, and preferably no fluorine-containing monomer. Also disclosed is a method for producing the water-repellent composition, a method for treating a substrate with the water-repellent composition, and a method for producing a treated textile product which includes treating a textile product with the water-repellent composition.
