DECORATIVE FILM
The object of the present invention is to provide a decorative film excellent in moldability and tensile strength; and a method for producing a three-dimensionally molded article with a decorative film. The decorative film of the present invention is used for decorating a three-dimensionally molded article. It is a decorative film comprising at least a substrate film layer and a clear layer, wherein the clear layer is made of a fluorinated polymer comprising units based on a fluoroolefin, units based on a monomer having no crosslinkable group, which is at least one member selected from the group consisting of a vinyl ether, a vinyl ester, an allyl ether, an allyl ester and a (meth)acrylic acid ester, and units having a crosslinkable group; and the content of the units based on a fluoroolefin is from 20 to 70 mol % to all units which the fluorinated polymer comprises.
WATER AND OIL REPELLENT COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING WATER AND OIL REPELLENT COMPOSITION, AND ARTICLE
The present invention relates to a water and oil repellent composition from which an article with excellent water repellency can be obtained; a method for producing the same; and an article treated with the water and oil repellent composition.
The water and oil repellent composition of the present invention comprises a polymer in which the total ratio of a unit (a) based on a monomer (a), a unit (b) based on a monomer (b) and a unit (c) based on a monomer (c) with respect to all units is 95 mol % or more; in the production method of the present invention, a monomer component in which the total ratio of the monomer (a), the monomer (b) and the monomer (c) is 95 mol % or more is polymerized in the presence of a polymerization initiator; monomer (a): CR.sup.1R.sup.2CR.sup.3R.sup.4; monomer (b): CH.sub.2CHR.sup.f; monomer (c): a carboxylic acid vinyl ester; R.sup.1: F, Cl or H; R.sup.2: F or H; R.sup.3: F or H; R.sup.4: F, H or CF.sub.3; at least one of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 is F; R.sup.f: a perfluoroalkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
FLUORINATED COATING MATERIAL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLUORINATED COATING MATERIAL, COATED ARTICLE AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD
To provide a fluorinated coating material capable of forming a coating film excellent in water repellency and substrate adhesion. Further, to provide a method for producing the coating material, a coated article and its production method.
A fluorinated coating material comprising a fluorinated polymer having the following units F, the following units 1 and the following units 2:
units F: at least one type of units selected from the group consisting of units based on CF.sub.3CHCHF and units based on CF.sub.3CFCH.sub.2;
units 1: at least one type of units selected from the group consisting of units having a carboxy group, units based on allyl alcohol and units based on a hydroxyalkyl allyl ether;
units 2: at least one type of units selected from the group consisting of units based on a vinyl ether, units based on a vinyl ester, units based on an allyl ether (excluding a hydroxyalkyl allyl ether), units based on an allyl ester and units based on a (meth)acrylic acid ester.
POWDER COATING MATERIAL
A powder coating material which has excellent blocking resistance and can form coating films excellent in water repellency is provided.
The powder coating material of the present invention comprises a fluorinated polymer comprising from 20 to 80 mol % of units based on at least one species selected from the group consisting of CF.sub.3CHCHF and CF.sub.3CFCH.sub.2, from 18 to 60 mol % of units based on a monomer represented by the formula X.sup.1Z.sup.1 (wherein X.sup.1 is a specific monovalent polymerizable group, and Z.sup.1 is a specific alkyl group, a specific cycloalkyl group or a specific aryl group) and units having a crosslinkable group.
CURABLE FLUOROCOPOLYMER FORMED FROM TETRAFLUOROPROPENE
The present invention is directed to partially fluorinated copolymers and the production thereof. More specifically, the copolymers, which are preferably produced by a solution polymerization process, preferably have at least three units, the first unit selected from 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, the second unit having a polymerized monomer selected from the vinyl esters and vinyl ethers, and the third unit having a polymerized monomer derived from a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether. The resulting copolymer is environmentally friendly, has favorable molecular weight characteristics, and may be shipped economically in high concentration.
CURABLE FLUOROCOPOLYMER FORMED FROM TETRAFLUOROPROPENE
The present invention is directed to partially fluorinated copolymers and the production thereof. More specifically, the copolymers, which are preferably produced by a solution polymerization process, preferably have at least three units, the first unit selected from 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, the second unit having a polymerized monomer selected from the vinyl esters and vinyl ethers, and the third unit having a polymerized monomer derived from a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether. The resulting copolymer is environmentally friendly, has favorable molecular weight characteristics, and may be shipped economically in high concentration.
Gloss retentive fluorocopolymers for coating applications
Disclosed are protective coating compositions having enhanced gloss retention properties formed by steps comprising: (i) providing one or more fluorocopolymers by copolymerization of (1) one or more hydrofluoroolefin monomer(s) selected from the group consisting of hydrofluoroethylenes, hydrofluoropropenes, hydrofluorobutenes, hydrofluoropentenes and combinations of these, (2) one or more vinyl ester monomer(s), and (3) one or more vinyl ether monomer(s), wherein at least a portion of said vinyl ether monomer is a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether monomer, wherein the copolymer preferably has a number average molecular weight of greater than about 10,000; (ii) providing a VOC containing carrier for said one or more fluorocopolymers; and (iii) providing a stabilizing agent comprising: a) a radical scavenger and b) an absorber of UV light; and (iv) combining said one or more fluorocopolymers with said carrier and said stabilizing agent to produce a polymeric coating composition.
FLUOROPOLYMERS FOR COATING APPLICATIONS
Copolymers formed by copolymerization of: (1) one or more hydrofluoroolefin monomer(s) selected from the group consisting of hydrofluoroethylenes, hydrofluoropropenes, hydrofluorobutenes, hydrofluoropentenes and combinations of these; (2) one or more aromatic vinyl ester monomer(s); (3) one or more vinyl ester monomer(s); and (4) one or more vinyl ether monomer(s), wherein at least a portion of said vinyl ether monomer is a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether monomer.
ENDCAPPED FLUOROPOLYMERS FOR COATING APPLICATIONS AND PROCESSES OF PRODUCING SAME
A process of producing an endcapped fluorocopolymer including the forming of a fluorocopolymer by copolymerization of: (1) one or more hydrofluoroolefin monomer(s) selected from the group consisting of hydrofluoroethylenes, hydrofluoropropenes, hydrofluorobutenes, hydrofluoropentenes and combinations of these; (2) one or more vinyl ester monomer(s); and (3) one or more vinyl ether monomer(s), wherein at least a portion of said vinyl ether monomer is a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether monomer; and at the end of copolymerization, reacting a radical transfer agent, preferably methanol, with the fluorocopolymer to produce the endcapped fluorocopolymer, preferably containing ether end groups.
FLUOROPOLYMER SOLUTION FOR FORMING A FLUOROPOLYMER COATING
The present disclosure relates to solutions for forming a fluoropolymer coatings, comprising: i) an organic solvent, and dissolved therein ii) a fluoropolymer comprising repeat units arising from specific fluoroolefin, alkyl or aryl vinyl ether and alkenyl silane monomers. The present fluoropolymer solutions have long shelf stability life, minimal to no formation of insoluble residue or gel over the period between their manufacture and use, are of a viscosity that allows for facile filtration and so are substantially free from undesirable submicron size particles, have a dissolved polymer content such that the solutions are of utility in commercial single-coat coating processes, and afford fluoropolymer coatings on substrates that have excellent adhesion to the substrate during use and over the lifetime of the electronic device.
