Elastomer material modified by a hybrid hard segment material and preparation method thereof

An elastomer material includes at least two components; the first component includes isocyanate prepolymer obtained through reaction of polyol and isocyanate, and its —NCO content is 22-30%; the second component includes 50-70 parts of polyether amine, 2-10 parts of liquid amine chain extender, 5-15 parts of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene, and 1-15 parts of hybrid hard segment material; the hybrid hard segment material includes one or more of nano titanium dioxide, nano aluminum oxide and nano silica. Through adjusting the —NCO content of the isocyanate prepolymer, increasing the hard segment content, and combining with the components in the second component, the invention ensures the elasticity of the polymer while improving its mechanical properties, and also improves the electrical insulation and wear resistance of the material.

Described herein is a polyurethane including a reaction product of an isocyanate component, a polyol component, and graphene nano platelets. The graphene nano platelets are reacted in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 20% by weight, based on a total weight of the polyurethane. The graphene nano platelets have an average lateral dimension (x, y) of from about 1 to about 100 μm, an average through-plane dimension (z) of from about 5 to about 100 nm, and an oxygen content of from about 0.01 to about 10% by weight, based on a total weight of the graphene nano platelets.

Methods for reducing aldehyde emissions in polyurethane foams

Polyurethane foams are made by curing a reaction mixture that contains an aromatic polyisocyanate, at least one isocyanate-reactive material having an average functionality of at least 2 and an equivalent weight of at least 200 per isocyanate-reactive group, at least one blowing agent, at least one surfactant and at least one catalyst, a polyethyleneamine mixture having a number average molecular weight of 175 to 450 and an alkali metal, phosphonium or ammonium sulfite. Foams so produced emit low levels of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acrolein and propionaldehyde.

POLYOL PRE-MIXES HAVING IMPROVED SHELF LIFE

A polyol pre-mix containing at least one halogenated hydroolefin blowing agent and having improved shelf life stability is provided, wherein each polyol combined with the halogenated hydroolefin blowing agent has an apparent pH of between 3 and 11.4. Controlling the apparent pH of the polyol(s) enables the polyol pre-mix to be stored for extended periods of time and then used in combination with organic polyisocyanate to produce foam formulations having gel times and tack free times not significantly different from those exhibited when freshly prepared polyol pre-mix is used.

Using a polyol mixture comprising PBD for creating a PU-based artificial turf

A method of manufacturing an artificial turf includes creating fluid polyurethane mass. The creation including reacting first and second polyols with an isocyanate. The first polyol is a polyether polyol and/or a polyester polyol having at least 2 hydroxyl groups per molecule, the second polyol being polybutadien diol. The isocyanate including isocyanate monomers, isocyanate polymers or isocyanate prepolymers or a mixture thereof, the isocyanate monomers, isocyanate polymers and the isocyanate prepolymers having two or more isocyanate groups per molecule. The method further includes incorporating an artificial turf fiber into a carrier such that a first portion of the fiber protrudes to the front side of the carrier and that a second portion of the fiber is located at the back side of the carrier, adding the fluid polyurethane mass on the back side of the carrier, and hardening the fluid polyurethane mass.
