Skin contact adhesive and methods for its preparation and use

The present invention provides polyurethanes including a reaction product of components including: (a) an isocyanate functional urethane prepolymer comprising a reaction product of components including: (i) about 1 equivalent of at least one polyisocyanate; and (ii) about 0.1 to about 0.5 equivalents of at least one diol having 2 to 18 carbon atoms; and (b) about 0.05 to about 0.9 equivalents of at least one branched polyol having 4 to 18 carbon atoms and at least 3 hydroxyl groups; and (c) up to about 0.9 equivalents of at least one polyol different from branched polyol (b) and having 2 to 18 carbon atoms, wherein the reaction product components are essentially free of polyester polyol and polyether polyol; compositions, coatings and articles made therefrom and methods of making the same.
Adhesive and its preparation and application
The present invention relates to an adhesive, a preparation method and application thereof, particularly the application for bonding glass fiber composites, and a bonded article obtained by using the adhesive. The adhesive comprises: a polyisocyanate having an isocyanate functionality of not less than 2; an epoxy-modified polyether polyol; a hydroxyl-containing acrylate; a redox catalyst; a silane coupling agent; optionally a polyol containing bisphenol A structure; and optionally a polymer polyol different from the epoxy-modified polyether polyol. The adhesive according to the present invention has the advantages of being insensitive to moisture, good bonding properties and a long pot life.
Surface treatment composition
A composition including a compound containing a carbon-carbon double bond obtained by reacting (A) a polyisocyanate which is a trimer of diisocyanate, with (B) a compound having an active hydrogen, wherein component (B) includes (B1) a perfluoropolyether having an active hydrogen, and (B2) a monomer having an active hydrogen and at least two groups having a carbon-carbon double bond.
DYNAMIC UREA BONDS FOR POLYMERS
The present invention relates to polymers having dynamic urea bonds and more specifically to polymers having hindered urea bonds (HUBs). The present invention also relates to: (a) malleable, repairable, and reprogrammable shape memory polymers having HUBs, (b) reversible or degradable (e.g., via hydrolysis or aminolysis) linear, branched or network polymers having HUBs, and (c) to precursors for incorporation of HUBs into these polymers. The HUB technology can be applied to and integrated into a variety of polymers, such as polyureas, polyurethanes, polyesters, polyamides, polycarbonates, polyamines, and polysaccharides to make linear, branched, and cross-linked polymers. Polymers incorporating the HUBs can be used in a wide variety of applications including plastics, coatings, adhesives, biomedical applications, such as drug delivery systems and tissue engineering, environmentally compatible packaging materials, and 4D printing applications.
SHAPE-MEMORY POLYMERS
The present invention relates to shape-memory polymers, a method for providing said shape-memory polymers, uses and precursors thereof. More precisely, shape-memory polymers according to the present invention comprise end-capped urethane- and/or urea-based polymers having an amorphous backbone. Shape-memory polymers described herein provide for improved properties.
