Renewably Derived Polyesters and Methods of Making and Using the Same
Polyester compositions are disclosed herein, as well as methods of making and using such polyesters. In some embodiments, the polyesters are formed from monomers derived from natural oils. In some embodiments, the polyesters have lower glass transition temperatures than polyesters of comparable molecular weight.
Nitrileoxide compound

wherein R.sup.21 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; R.sup.22 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and R.sup.23 is a divalent organic group.
Amine functional compound
An amine functional compound comprising i. least one segment consisting of at least one ether unit E and at least one ester unit, wherein the ether units and ester units are connected by an ether link or by an ester link, and wherein the sum of the number of ether units and ester units is at least three, and wherein the ether units and ester units are arranged in random order, and ii. at least one amine group ii. selected from a tertiary amine group, a salt of a tertiary amine group and a quaternary ammonium group, wherein the at least one segment is covalently linked to a polymerization starter moiety comprising the at least one amine group ii.
POLYMERIC MATERIALS FORMED FROM POLYHYDROXYALKANOATE MATERIALS
In an example, a process includes chemically reacting a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) material having a carboxylic-acid terminated side-chain with an azide material to form a polyisocyanate material.
POLYMER COMPOSITION FOR THIN COATINGS
The present application relates to a resin or polymer system suitable for two-component compositions, and a resin or polymer system configured for durable coatings with only thin coating weights. The resins and polymer systems of this invention provide high performance extremely thin, low gloss coatings with excellent adhesion, abrasion, scratch and chemical resistance The resins include a polyester component with one or more polyester polyols having a hydroxyl value of about 50 to about 300 and a polyurea component with one or more polyester polyol grafted polyurea polymers having a hydroxyl value of about 20 to about 100. These resin or polymer systems and two-component solvent borne coating compositions including such resin or polymer systems are surprisingly capable of achieving strong adhesion, excellent linear abrasion, and high chemical resistance all at the same time in a dry film thickness of about 2 mil or less, in some instances, about 1.2 mils or less, and in other instances, even about 1 mil or less.
Polyglycolide Copolymer and Preparation Thereof
Disclosed is a copolymer of polyglycolide and one or more additives. The copolymer may have a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) in the range of 10,000-1,000,000 and a ratio of a weight-average molecular weight to a number-average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) in the range of 1.0 to 10.0. The copolymer may have a melt index (MFR) in the range of 0.1 to 1000 g/10 min. The copolymer has good mechanical properties, thermal stability and hydrolytic stability. Also provided is a process for preparing the copolymer.
Heat and Aging Resistant Polyglycolide Copolymer and Composition Thereof
The invention relates novel polyglycolide copolymers comprising a colorant. The copolymers may have a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) in the range of 10,000-1,000,000, a ratio of a weight-average molecular weight to a number-average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) in the range of 1.0 to 4.0, and a yellowness index (YI) is the range of 40-90. The copolymers may have a melt index (MFR) in the range of 0.1 to 1000 g/10 min. The copolymers may have a stable yellowness index, good thermal stability and aging resistance. Also provided are a process for preparing the copolymers and a method for reducing yellowness index change rate of a polyglycolide copolymer.
GENE DELIVERY CARRIER
Disclosed are methods, compositions, reagents, systems, and kits to prepare and utilize poly (β-amino ester) (PBAE) polymers, which are synthesized via Michael addition reactions of diacrylates and amines disclosed herein. Various embodiments utilize lactones and lactone derivatives to generate the diacrylate compounds. The PBAE polymers are shown to be effective biodegradable carriers for the delivery of an agent such as an organic molecule, inorganic molecule, nucleic acid, protein, peptide, polynucleotide, targeting agent, an isotopically labeled chemical compound, vaccine, or an immunological agent.
Block copolymer
