A terminally modified polycarbonate resin that has ultraviolet absorbing capability is provided. More specifically, the terminally modified polycarbonate resin has a structure represented by general formula (A) and a constituent unit that is derived from a dihydric phenol. Provided is a film including a polycarbonate resin capable of achieving excellent drawdown resistance during thermoforming and excellent formability in processing a bent portion and the like thereof. The film contains a polycarbonate resin (a) which satisfies the following expression (i), when a viscosity at a shear rate of 6.080×10 [1/s] measured at 300° C. is X [Pa.Math.s] and a viscosity at a shear rate of 6.080×10.sup.3 [1/s] measured at 300° C. is Y [Pa.Math.s].

The present invention relates to a process for producing polycarbonate according to a phase boundary process, from at least one dihydroxydiaryl alkane, phosgene, at least one catalyst and at least one chain terminator, the process producing polycarbonate with a low proportion of oligomers and a low proportion of Di-chain terminator carbonate. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the chain terminator is added to the reaction system at a designated time.

The present invention relates to a process for producing polycarbonate according to a phase boundary process, from at least one dihydroxydiaryl alkane, phosgene, at least one catalyst and at least one chain terminator, the process producing polycarbonate with a low proportion of oligomers and a low proportion of Di-chain terminator carbonate. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the chain terminator is added to the reaction system at a designated time.

STRETCHED FILM, CIRCULARLY POLARIZING PLATE, AND DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention provides a stretched film exhibiting excellent reverse wavelength dispersibility, a circularly polarizing plate, and a display device. The stretched film of an embodiment of the present invention is a stretched film having a slow axis in an in-plane direction, in which the stretched film satisfies a relationship of Formula (A) Re(450)/Re(550)<1.00, and an absorption at a wavelength of 700 to 900 nm in a fast axis direction of the stretched film is larger than an absorption at a wavelength of 700 to 900 nm in a slow axis direction of the stretched film. In Formula (A) Re(450) represents an in-plane retardation of the stretched film at a wavelength of 450 nm and Re(550) represents an in-plane retardation of the stretched film at a wavelength of 550 nm.
