Fluorine-containing ether compound, lubricant for magnetic recording medium, and magnetic recording medium
A fluorine-containing ether compound characterized by being represented by the following formula (1):
R.sup.1—R.sup.2—CH.sub.2—R.sup.3—CH.sub.2—R.sup.4—R.sup.5 (1) In the formula (1), R.sup.3 is a perfluoropolyether chain. R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 are divalent linkage groups having a polar group and may be the same or different. R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 are bonded to an atom other than a carbon atom of R.sup.2 or R.sup.4. R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 are terminal groups composed of an organic group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and may be the same or different. At least one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 is a chain organic group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms wherein one or more hydrogen atoms of the chain organic group is substituted with a group having an amide bond.
Alkylene oxide polymer endcapped with an aryl ether alkoxylate block copolymer
The present invention relates to a compound comprising a hydrophobically modified poly(oxyalkylene-urethane) having a hydrophobic fragment represented by Structure I: ##STR00001## where Ar.sup.1, Ar.sup.2; R.sup.1, m, and n are defined herein. The compound of the present invention provides viscosity stability upon tinting for paints containing a hydrophobically modified poly(oxyalkylene-urethane) rheology modifier, more particularly a HEUR rheology modifier.
CURABLE FLUOROPOLYETHER ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND OPTICAL PART
A curable fluoropolyether adhesive composition which comprises, each in a specific amount, (A) a straight-chain polyfluoro compound having two or more alkenyl groups per molecule and having a perfluoropolyether structure in the main chain, (B) a fluorine-containing organohydrogen siloxane having, per molecule, a perfluoroalkyl group, a perfluorooxyalkyl group, a perfluoroalkylene group or a perfluorooxyalkylene group and two or more SiH groups, and not having an epoxy group or an alkoxy group directly bonded to a silicon atom, (C) a platinum-group metal catalyst, and (D) a cyclic organopolysiloxane having, per molecule, an SiH group and an epoxy group and/or a trialkoxysilyl group bonded to a silicon atom via a divalent hydrocarbon group optionally containing an oxygen atom, and not having fluorine in molecule, and a cured product of which having a thickness of 2 mm shows a transmittance to light with a wavelength of 500 nm of 80% or higher. This curable fluoropolyether adhesive composition is capable of providing a cured product having good light transmittance and high adhesiveness to glass materials.
Polymer with polyether polyester segment and polysiloxane segment
The invention relates to a polymer comprising: a) at least one polyether polyester copolymer segment, wherein the polyether polyester copolymer comprises ether units selected from the group consisting of the formula (II) —[CR.sup.1.sub.2].sub.n—O—, wherein n is an integer of 2 to 4, R.sup.1 represent independent of each other organic groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms or hydrogen, and wherein in case n is equal to 2 at least one of the R.sup.1 represents an ether group having the formula —R.sup.2—O—R.sup.3, wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independent of each other represent organic groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and b) at least one polysiloxane segment linked to the at least one polyether polyester copolymer segment.

The invention relates to a polymer comprising: a) at least one polyether polyester copolymer segment, wherein the polyether polyester copolymer comprises ether units selected from the group consisting of the formula (II) —[CR.sup.1.sub.2].sub.n—O—, wherein n is an integer of 2 to 4, R.sup.1 represent independent of each other organic groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms or hydrogen, and wherein in case n is equal to 2 at least one of the R.sup.1 represents an ether group having the formula —R.sup.2—O—R.sup.3, wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independent of each other represent organic groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and b) at least one polysiloxane segment linked to the at least one polyether polyester copolymer segment.
SOLVENTLESS PHOTOCURABLE LIQUID COMPOSITION, CURED PRODUCT THEREOF, OPTICAL FILLER CONTAINING SAME, AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING LAYER COMPRISING SAID CURED PRODUCT
A photocurable liquid silicone composition, that has low viscosity that facilitates injection into a small gap, cures quickly by irradiating with a high energy beam such as ultraviolet light or the like, has a refractive index after curing that is high not only in a visible region but also in an infrared region, in which composition design is possible to provide an arbitrarily low dielectric constant, and is particularly useful as a material for a device using an infrared LED light source, is provided. The composition comprises: (A) one or more type of an organosilane or organopolysiloxane having on average one or more photoreactive functional groups and two or more monovalent functional groups selected from aromatic groups with 6 to 12 carbon atoms and aralkyl groups with 7 to 12 carbon atoms in a molecule and having 1 to 5 silicon atoms, and optionally further comprising (C) a curing catalyst.
Quasicrystalline structures and uses thereof
This invention relates generally to the field of quasicrystalline strictures. In preferred embodiments, the stopgap structure is more spherically symmetric than periodic structures facilitating the formation of stopgaps in nearly all directions because of higher rotational symmetries. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of quasicrystalline structures for optical, mechanical, electrical and magnetic purposes. In some embodiments, the invention relates to manipulating, controlling, modulating and directing waves including electromagnetic, sound, spin, and surface waves, for pre-selected range of wavelengths propagating in multiple directions.
