WHITE-LIGHT HYPERBRANCHED CONJUGATED POLYMER, METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME AND IT'S USE

This application discloses a white-light hyperbranched conjugated polymer, a method for preparing the same and its use. The polymer uses a red phosphorescent Ir(III) complex as a core and polyfluorene derivative blue fluorescent materials as a framework which either contains or does not contain carbazole derivatives, and the white light hyperbranched polymers realize white-light emission by adjusting the content of the red phosphorescent Ir(III) complex connected using the complementation of blue and red color. The electroluminescent spectrum of the conjugated polymer in the present application covers the whole visible light emission area and is close to the pure white light emission, by which the conjugated polymer could be used as a material used in light-emitting layer to prepare the organic electroluminescent devices.

METHOD FOR REMOVING A POLLUTANT FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION WITH A CROSSLINKED POLYMER

A crosslinked resin made up of polymerized units of a linear polyamine with at least 3 primary and/or secondary amine functionalities and a bisacrylamide. The crosslinked polymers are porous spherical particles with a BET surface area in the range of 50-120 m.sup.2/g. A method of the synthesizing the crosslinked polymer is specified. A method for using the crosslinked resin as an adsorbent material in removing pollutants including organic dyes (e.g. Congo red, Rhodamine B) and heavy metals from an aqueous solution or an industrial wastewater sample is also described.

Method of forming a void, channel, and/or vascular network in a polymeric matrix

A method of forming a void, channel and/or vascular network in a polymeric matrix comprises providing a pre-vascularized structure that includes a matrix material and a sacrificial material embedded in the matrix material in a predetermined pattern, where the matrix material comprises a monomer and the sacrificial material comprises a polymer. A region of the matrix material is activated to initiate an exothermic polymerization reaction and generate a self-propagating polymerization front. As the polymerization front propagates through the matrix material and polymerizes the monomer, heat from the exothermic reaction simultaneously degrades the sacrificial material into a gas-phase and/or liquid-phase byproduct. Thus, one or more voids or channels having the predetermined pattern are rapidly formed in the matrix material.

Capacitive pressure sensor with bottlebrush elastomer dielectric layer for low pressure sensing

A composition of matter including a crosslinked bottlebrush polymer, wherein the crosslinker units in the composition of matter are soluble with the bottlebrush polymer. In one example, the crosslinked bottlebrush polymer is tailored as a single phase (solvent free) elastomer useful in a capacitive pressure sensing device. A novel embodiment of the present invention further includes demonstration of a universal approach to form solvent-free bottlebrush polymer networks by photo-crosslinking mixtures of well-defined bottlebrush precursors and bis-benzophenone-based additives. This method has been proven effective with a wide variety of different side-chain chemistries.
