These chemical entities may be useful in delivering pharmaceutical agents to a subject or cell.
POLYMER AND LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE
A polymer and a light-emitting device employing the same are provided. The polymer includes a first repeat unit with a structure represented by Formula (I):

wherein the definitions of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, A.sup.1, A.sup.2, A.sup.3, and Z.sup.1 and n are as defined in the specification. At least one of A.sup.1, A.sup.2, and A.sup.3 is not hydrogen.

Multi-functional anti-microbial polymers and compositions containing same
The present disclosure relates to multi-functional anti-microbial polymers comprising a first monomer having a polymerizable cyclic aromatic moiety which forms part of the backbone of the polymer and a second monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a double or triple bond and a quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium moiety.
Deep ultraviolet-excitable water-solvated polymeric dyes
Water solvated polymeric dyes having a deep ultraviolet excitation spectrum are provided. The subject polymeric dyes include a light harvesting multichromophore having conjugation-modifying repeat units incorporated into the polymer backbone to provide segments of π-conjugated co-monomers having limited π-conjugation between segments. Polymeric tandem dyes are also provided that further include a signaling chromophore covalently linked to the multichromophore in energy-receiving proximity therewith. Also provided are labelled specific binding members that include the subject water solvated polymeric dyes. Methods of evaluating a sample for the presence of a target analyte and methods of labelling a target molecule in which the subject polymeric dyes find use are also provided. Systems and kits for practicing the subject methods are also provided.
PHOTOACTIVE MATERIAL
A material comprising an electron-accepting unit of formula (I): wherein Ar1 and Ar2 independently is a 5- or 6-membered aromatic or heteroaromatic ring or is absent; and each X is independently H or a substituent with the proviso that at least one X is an electron-withdrawing group and wherein X groups bound to adjacent carbon atoms may be linked to form an electron-withdrawing group. The material further comprises an electron-donating unit D comprising a fused or unfused furan or thiophene. The material may be a polymer comprising repeat units of formula (I). The material may be a non-polymeric compound. An organic photodetector may contain a bulk heterojunction layer containing an electron acceptor or an electron donor wherein at least one of the electron acceptor and electron donor contains a unit of formula (I).

CYCLOOLEFIN RING-OPENED COPOLYMER, COMPOSITION FOR ELECTRICALLY INSULATING MATERIAL, AND ELECTRICALLY INSULATING MATERIAL
A cycloolefin ring-opened copolymer includes a structural unit derived from a norbornene compound that includes a heteroelement-containing hydrocarbon group and a structural unit derived from a norbornene compound that includes a heteroelement-free hydrocarbon group. In this copolymer, the structural unit derived from the norbornene compound that includes the heteroelement-containing hydrocarbon group has a proportional content of not less than 0.01 mol % and not more than 15.00 mol % when all structural units included in the copolymer are taken to be 100 mol %.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a polymer organic EL element that has a low driving voltage, high light emission efficiency, and a long lifespan. The present invention provides an organic electroluminescence element having a pair of electrodes and at least one organic layer between the electrodes, wherein the organic layer is constituted by two or more high molecular weight compounds including at least high molecular weight compounds α and β, and the high molecular weight compound α has a substituted triarylamine structural unit represented by a general formula (1) below and has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 or more and less than 1,000,000 in terms of polystyrene.
