There are provided a reactivity-introduced compound that imparts reactivity capable of bonding of a solid to another material, can perform imparting to a solid with high efficiency, and has high adhesion of bonding, a manufacturing method thereof, a surface-reactive solid using the same, and a manufacturing method of a surface-reactive solid.

There are provided a reactivity-introduced compound provided on a surface of the solid for bonding the solid to another material, the reactivity-introduced compound including a triazine ring, an alkoxysilyl group (including a case where an alkoxy group in the alkoxysilyl group is OH), and a diazomethyl group in one molecule, a manufacturing method thereof, a surface-reactive solid using the same, and a manufacturing method of a surface-reactive solid.

Bioflavonoid coated materials

Polymeric materials are described which have a bioflavonoid coating, the bioflavonoid content of the coating comprising at least naringin and neohesperidin. The use of such coated polymeric materials is also described as well as the process for making the coated polymeric materials.

Method for improving the water tolerance of bio-based CNF-films

The present invention relates to a continuous roll-to-roll process for improving the water tolerance of bio-based polymers, in particular cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) films. Furthermore, the invention provides a method, which combines surface modification/functionalization for improving water stability and wet strength, UV/Ozone treatment, corona treatment or plasma activation for purifying and activating the surface and thus increasing the reaction efficiency, and further hydrophobization of the surface of CNF film.

RUBBER PELLET TREATMENT

Rubber pellets are coated with an anti-tack material. The anti-tack material may be comprised of a metallic stearate, such as magnesium stearate. The coated rubber pellets are loaded on to a rotational conveyance mechanism that rotates at a speed and radial amount to provide an interaction time between the rubber pellets and the anti-tack material. The coated rubber pellets may then be dried in a centrifuge dryer having a plurality of angled fins extending from a rotational shaft.

Halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine coated garbage bags

Articles can be provided with odor resistance by applying a dispersion of a halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine in an inert liquid carrier onto the surface of the article and allowing the inert liquid carrier to penetrate into it. The N-halamine accordingly becomes deposited on the surface of the article after the inert liquid carrier penetrates into the article. This method can be used to provide odor resistance to a variety of substrates, including garbage bags. It can also be used to deposit other functional particulates onto the surface of substrates having sufficient porosity to take up the vehicle. For instance, such functional particles can be oxidants that display antimicrobial and/or enzyme inhibitory efficacy or particles having toxin interaction potentials through oxidative degradation or adsorption of toxic substances in air and/or water, such as fluoride uptake by metal oxide microparticles.
