20220340461 · 2022-10-27 ·

A biofilm composite carrier and a preparation method and use thereof are provided. The biofilm composite carrier includes a polyurethane framework, an adhesive and a functional material, wherein the functional material is adhered to the surface and pores of the polyurethane framework through the adhesive, and the functional material is a mixture of zeolite and tourmaline. The biofilm composite carrier is beneficial to the quick start-up and stable operation of the municipal sewage deammonification system under conditions of low temperature and low ammonium.

IN-SITU GELATINOUS TRIBLOCK COPOLYMER ELASTOMERS IN LATEX FOAMS

Combinations of gelatinous elastomer and polyurethane foam may be made by introducing a plasticized A-B-A triblock copolymer resin and/or an A-B diblock copolymer resin into a mixture of polyurethane foam forming components including a polyol and an isocyanate. The plasticized copolymer resin is polymerized to form the gelatinous elastomer in-situ while simultaneously polymerizing the polyol and the isocyanate to form polyurethane foam. The polyurethane reaction is exothermmic and can generate sufficient temperature to melt the styrene-portion of the A-B-A triblock copolymer resin thereby extending the crosslinking and in some cases integrating the A-B-A triblock copolymer within the polyurethane polymer matrix. The combination has a marbled appearance. The gel component has higher heat capacity than polyurethane foam and thus has good thermal conductivity and acts as a heat sink. Another advantage of in situ gel-foam is that the gel component provides higher support factors compared to the base foam alone.

Liquid impregnated surfaces for liquid repellancy

Articles including repellent surfaces and methods of making and using these articles are disclosed. The repellant surface can comprise a polymer having a roughened surface and a fluorinated silane and a lubricating liquid deposited on the roughened surface. The repellent surface, and by extension the articles described herein, can exhibit superomniphobic properties. The methods for producing the repellant surface can comprise dissolving a polymer in a solvent to produce a polymer solution and optionally adding a non-solvent to the polymer solution to produce a casting mixture. The polymer solution or casting mixture can be deposited on a surface of a substrate and the solvent and/or the non-solvent evaporated to provide a coated-substrate having a roughened surface. A functional layer comprising a fluorinated silane followed by a lubricating liquid can be deposited on the roughened surface to form the repellant surface.
