Also provided is sheeting having an upper outside wall and a lower outside wall and an interposed sheet fixed between the outside walls. The interposed sheet includes multiple recesses in a symmetrical repeat pattern, where the upper and lower outside walls are, or the interposed sheet is, manufactured from a material which includes a polymeric material.

A method of separating and purifying a mixed stream of contaminated reclaimed polyethylene and contaminated reclaimed polypropylene is provided. The method comprises the steps of extraction, dissolution, settling, purification, and solvent separation to produce separate streams of purified recycled polyethylene and purified recycled polypropylene. Both separate streams are produced in the same production plant operating in swing mode, and have virgin-like optical properties.

Embodiments relate a method for processing recyclable polymer material. The method may include grinding the recyclable polymer material to produce polymer flake material, washing the polymer flake material, removing contaminants from the polymer flake material with a flake sorter, and removing lightweight materials from the polymer flake material with an elutriator. The method may also include extruding the polymer flake material with a virgin to form an extruded polymer blend, degassing the extruded polymer blend, filtering the extruded polymer blend, and pelletizing the polymer blend. The method may also include passing the polymer blend through a silo with a homogenizer system equipped with hot air insufflation.

CARBON FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC SHEETS FOR EFFICIENT MICROWAVE HEATING WITH DISPERSED WAVY CARBON NANOTUBES

A non-woven carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) composite object is formed by the variable frequency microwave (VFM) irradiation of a mixed fiber sheet of thermoplastic fibers, carbon fibers and wavy carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The mixed fiber sheets are prepared from a slurry of the thermoplastic fibers, carbon fibers, and wavy CNTs such that the wavy CNTs contact the carbon fibers and thermoplastic fibers. Upon irradiation with VFM radiation, the wavy CNTs generate heat and transfer the heat to the thermoplastic fibers, causing melting of the thermoplastic to form the matrix of the CFRTP composite object. The mixed fiber sheets can be combined alone or with other sheets to form laminar composites that are molded into objects and heated by VFM irradiation.

In another embodiment, a slit film tape composition includes a propylene-based elastomer comprising from 5-30 wt % ethylene based on a total weight of the propylene-based elastomer, the propylene-based elastomer having a MFR of 35-60 g/10 min; a polypropylene comprising 10-100 mol % propylene based on a total weight of the polypropylene, the polypropylene having a MFR of 2-35 g/10 min; and a filler.

The polypropylene film has a first surface and a second surface, contains a polypropylene resin as a main component, and is configured such that: the Svk value (SvkA) of the first surface is 0.005 μm or more and 0.030 μm or less; the Spk value (SpkA) of the first surface is more than 0.035 μm and 0.080 μm or less; the Svk value (SvkB) of the second surface is 0.005 μm or more and 0.030 μm or less; and the Spk value (SpkB) of the second surface is 0.015 μm or more and 0.035 μm or less.

A polypropylene composition suitable for foaming having improved processability but maintained strain hardening and the process to produce the polypropylene composition comprising combining a linear polypropylene having a melt strength within a range from 10 to 40 cN (190° C.) with an organic peroxide to obtain a branched polypropylene having a melt strength within a range from 20 to 80 cN (190° C.), wherein the melt strength of the branched polypropylene is greater than the melt strength of the linear polypropylene; and combining the branched polypropylene having a melt flow rate within a range of 0.1 to 20 g/10 min and an Mw/Mn of at least 5 with within a range from 5 to 40 wt % of a low molecular weight polyolefin having a melt flow rate of at least 50 g/10 min and an Mw/Mn of less than 5 to obtain the polypropylene composition.
