HIGHLY TRANSPARENT COATED CELLULOSE TRIACETATE FILM AND DISSOLVER MEDIUM
A coated, highly transparent film based on cellulose triacetate, is proposed that includes a) a support film acting as support layer and a cellulose triacetate or a mixture of cellulose esters and cellulose triacetate as main component, the cellulose triacetate or mixture being defined by a haze value of <0.5%, measured on the cellulose triacetate or mixture drawn out to a film after having been dissolved in dichloromethane or acetone, and b) a multi-functional coating applied in a coating solution to one or both sides of the support film. A dissolver medium can also be used as an enclosure medium. The highly transparent films of the invention can be used as window film, sunglasses film, laminating film, furniture foil, enclosing film, slide film for microscopy, cover slip replacement film and/or protective film, adhesive to glass, wood, metal, ceramic, cellulose derivative films or plastics following incipient dissolution or heat treatment.
CURABLE COMPOSITION, ESPECIALLY FOR RUBBER TO SUBSTRATE BONDING
The subject matter is a new curable composition comprising at least one hydroxyl-group containing resin, at least one nitroso-containing compound or at least one nitroso precursor compound, at least one hydrophopic silica and at least one blocked isocyanate, which provides excellent adhesion and steam resistance for rubber to substrate bonds, a process for bonding two substrates with this new curable composition and the corresponding article.
Methods for preparing functional optical films
The disclosure provides post-production methods for functionalization of optical quality films produced by top tier manufactures. The methods disclosed herein allow for the incorporation of different additives into existing films.
Reddening-resistant layer
The present disclosure relates to an optical laminate or a reddening-resistant layer. The present disclosure can provide an optical laminate that does not cause a so-called reddening phenomenon even when driven or maintained under extremely harsh conditions (e.g., very high temperature conditions), or a reddening-resistant layer applied thereto.
RESIN COMPOSITION, RESIN MOLDED ARTICLE, AND METHOD OF PREPARING RESIN COMPOSITION
A resin composition includes a cellulose derivative in which at least one hydroxyl group is substituted with an acyl group, which has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 75,000 and an average degree of substitution of the acyl group of 1.8 to 2.5, and which exhibits an amount (weight ratio) of an insoluble portion, when being dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at 25 C., of less than or equal to 5% by weight.
BLENDED MEMBRANES FOR WATER VAPOR TRANSPORT AND METHODS FOR PREPARING SAME
Water vapor transport membranes for ERV and other water vapor transport applications are provided. The membranes include a substrate and an air impermeable selective layer coated on the substrate, the selective layer including a cellulose derivative and a sulfonated polyaryletherketone. In some embodiments the sulfonated polyaryletherketone is in a cation form and/or the selective layer includes s PEEK and CA in an s PEEK:CA (wt.:wt.) ratio in the range of about 7:3 to 2:3. Methods for making such membranes are provided. The methods include applying a coating solution/dispersion to a substrate and allowing the coating solution/dispersion to dry to form an air impermeable selective layer on the substrate, the coating solution/dispersion including a cellulose derivative and a sulfonated polyarylether ketone. In some embodiments the sulfonated polyaryletherketone is in a cation form and/or the coating solution/dispersion includes s PEEK and CA in an sPEEK:CA (wt.:wt.) ratio in the range of about 7:3 to 2:3.

LIGNOCELLULOSE- AND CELLULOSE-BASED BIOPRODUCTS
Disclosed is a composition comprising (a) a lignocellulosic material and/or a cellulosic material; and (b) a cellulose derivative. A process for preparing the composition is also disclosed. The process can comprise providing a cellulose derivative in a solvent; and mixing a lignocellulosic material and/or a cellulosic material into the solvent. The lignocellulosic material and/or the cellulosic material can comprise 90% of particles ranging from 0.01 to 5 mm in size. The lignocellulosic material and/or the cellulosic material can be derived from a biomass residue.
