Flexible polymeric material with shape retention properties

A shaped polymeric material having a three-dimensional configuration with one or more angular displacements is provided. The polymeric material is formed from a thermoplastic composition containing a continuous phase that includes a matrix polymer. A microinclusion additive and nanoinclusion additive are dispersed within the continuous phase in the form of discrete domains, and a porous network is defined in the material.

Combined seals, compositions, and methods of making the same

A combined sealing member is provided that includes a composition comprising two or more polyolefin elastomers selected from the group consisting of a dense, a micro-dense and a dynamic silane-crosslinked polyolefin elastomer having a respective density of less than 0.90 g/cm.sup.3, less than 0.70 g/cm.sup.3, and less than 0.60 g/cm.sup.3. The combined sealing member exhibits a compression set of from about 5.0% to about 35.0%, as measured according to ASTM D 395 (22 hrs @ 70° C.).

The microporous polymer film comprises: (a) 50 to 95 weight percent of polypropylene copolymer comprising (i) polypropylene homopolymer chain segments in total amount of from 50-82 wt. %, and (ii) ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments in total amount of from 18-50 wt. %; wherein at least a portion of the ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments comprise polymerized units of ethylene in an amount of at least 45 wt. % of the ethylene-containing copolymer chain segments; and (b) 5 to 50 weight percent of ethylene-propylene elastomer, wherein at least 45 weight percent of the polymerized units in the ethylene-propylene elastomer are units of ethylene.

A braided thermoplastic ribbon is disclosed having fully impregnated filaments. The ribbon is formed by a thermoplastic prepreg having a plurality of continuous fibers that are substantially oriented in a longitudinal direction, the continuous fibers constituting from about 30 wt. % to about 40 wt. % of the prepreg, a first resinous matrix that contains a first set of one or more thermoplastic polymers and within which the continuous fibers are embedded, wherein the thermoplastic polymers constitute from about 30 wt. % to about 40 wt. % of the prepreg, and a second resinous matrix that contains a second set of one or more thermoplastic polymers, wherein the second set of thermoplastic polymers constitute from about 30 wt. % to about 40 wt. % of the prepreg.

HETEROPHASIC PROPYLENE COPOLYMERS, METHODS, FILMS, AND ARTICLES THEREOF

Heterophasic propylene copolymer compositions may include a polymer matrix of a random propylene copolymer and an elastomeric copolymer dispersed in the polymer matrix in an amount ranging from about 10 to 35 wt. %, relative to the weight of the composition. The random propylene copolymer may include one or more comonomers in an amount ranging from about 0.5 to 8.0 wt. % of the random propylene copolymer. The elastomeric copolymer may include propylene and one or more comonomers, where the one or more comonomers are present in an amount ranging from about 15 to 60 wt. % of the elastomeric copolymer. Films may be formed from heterophasic propylene copolymer compositions. Methods of preparing heterophasic propylene copolymer compositions may include performing a multistage polymerization.
