The coated substrate further includes a second layer on at least a portion of the first layer, and a third layer on at least a portion of the second layer. A method of forming a coated substrate includes: forming a first layer on at least a portion of a substrate; forming a second layer on at least portion of the first layer; and forming a third layer by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition on at least a portion of the second layer.
ORGANIC BARRIER FILM, PREPARATION METHOD OF ORGANIC BARRIER FILM, AND QUANTUM DOT DEVICE
Disclosed are an organic barrier film, a preparation method of the organic barrier film, and a quantum dot device. The organic barrier film includes a substrate layer, an adhesive layer, and an oxygen barrier layer that are sequentially stacked. The oxygen barrier layer includes polyvinyl alcohol, and chemical cross-linking is formed between the adhesive layer and the oxygen barrier layer.
AEROGEL HYBRID CONTAINING RESIN MIXTURE, PROCESS FOR ITS PRODUCTION AND USE
An aerogel hybrid and a method for preparing the aerogel hybrid. The aerogel hybrid includes a resin composition and a plurality of aerogel particles. The resin composition may fill the interstitial space between the plurality of aerogel particles. The aerogel hybrid may be produced by preparing the aerogel and preparing the resin composition, blending the aerogel and the resin composition together to form an aerogel hybrid and curing the aerogel hybrid for providing an aerogel hybrid containing resin mixture with the ability to fit large amounts of aerogel into the resin to enhance the aerogel's physical properties.
Composite polymer modifiers
The invention relates to composite polymer modifiers for thermoplastic resins, and especially for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The composite modifier is an intimate blend of mineral filler and polymeric process aid, which is formed by the co-powderization of aqueous emulsions, suspensions or slurries of one or more mineral filler(s) and process aid(s). The resulting composite modifier provides more effective modification of the thermoplastic resin than by the use of the dried components formed separately. The composite modifier may also contain other co-powderized components such as impact modifiers, for additional benefits.
Acrylic films comprising a structured layer
A film is described comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer composition, wherein the film comprises a structured layer.
Highly hydrophobic and oleophilic melamine resin via metal-ion induced wettability transition, application, and preparation thereof
This disclosure is related to a class of metal-ion induced hydrophobic polymers and method of producing such class of compounds by a one-step solution immersion process. Specifically, a metal-ion Induced hydrophobic polymer or melamine sponge (MII-HMS) is disclosed. Such polymer or sponge is demonstrated to be highly hydrophobic and oleophilic and exhibits excellent oil absorption capabilities, being able to absorb a wide range of oils and organic solvents up to 71 to 157 times of its own weight.
Coating composition for flexible plastic film
The present invention relates to a coating composition for a flexible plastic film, and more specifically to a coating composition for producing a flexible plastic film having excellent flexibility while exhibiting high hardness. According to the present invention, the coating composition exhibits flexibility, bending property, high hardness, scratch resistance and high transparency, and hardly has a risk of damaging the film even in repetitive, continuous bending or long-time folding state, and thereby can be usefully applied to flexible mobile devices, display devices, front face and display unit of various instrument panels, and the like.
Preparation of a coatings formulation with alkali swellable polymer particles
The present invention relates to a process comprising the step of contacting an aqueous dispersion of swelled polymer particles with a rheology modifier and a binder to form a coatings composition with a VOC of less than 50 g/L. The swelled polymer particles arise from neutralization of alkali swellable polymer particles having a high acid core content and a low T.sub.g shell. The composition arising from the process of the present invention is useful for improving open time, especially for low VOC coatings applications.
Printable film
An extruded multilayer film includes a top layer comprising a blend of a polyolefin and adsorbent silica. The adsorbent silica is 5% or more of the blend and the polyolefin is 95% or less of the blend. The multilayer film is oriented in at least one direction to cause fracturing of the top layer to provide a microporous surface exposing the adsorbent silica gel. The fractured top layer is receptive to receiving a printing ink on an exposed surface thereof with enhanced pigment entrapment and rapid ink drying. A single layer film in the form of the top layer, and also oriented in at least one direction also constitutes a part of this invention.
