Lightweight particles and compositions containing them
Disclosed are particles that have an exterior surface coated with a thin polymeric coating, such as a coating that includes a sulfur-containing polymer. Also disclosed are compositions, such as fuel-resistant sealant and coating compositions, which include such particles. Aerospace vehicles having an aperture at least partially sealed with a sealant deposited from such a sealant composition are also disclosed.
POLYIMIDE PRECURSOR SOLUTION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POROUS POLYIMIDE FILM
A polyimide precursor solution contains a polyimide precursor, resin particles having a core and a coating resin layer, the coating resin layer contains a melamine resin, and a solvent.
Powder based balancing layer
A method of manufacturing a building panel with a decorative surface layer, a core and a balancing and/or protective layer, wherein the method includes applying a first layer of a first powder based mix, including wood fibres and a thermosetting binder, on a core; applying a liquid substance on the first powder based mix; drying the first powder based mix; turning the core with the dried first powder based mix such that the first powder based mix points downwards; applying a second layer on the upper part of the core; and curing the first and second layers by providing heat and pressure, wherein the first layer forms the balancing and/or protective layer and the second layer forms the decorative surface layer in the building panel.
RESIN BINDER COMPOSITION AND FILTER MEDIUM COMPRISING THE RESIN BINDER COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a resin binder composition, a filter medium comprising the resin binder composition as well as related methods and uses.
Lightweight particles and compositions containing them
Low density particles that have an exterior surface coated with a thin polymeric coating of an aminoplast can be used in aerospace sealants to reduce the specific gravity of a sealant.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE MADE THEREFROM
The present disclosure pertains to the technical field of resin composite materials and more particularly relates to resin compositions and articles made therefrom, including a resin film, a prepreg, a laminate or a printed circuit board, wherein the resin composition comprises a phosphorus-containing flame retardant of Formula (I) and a prepolymerized resin prepared at least from a divinylbenzene compound, an allyl resin and an acrylate resin. The resin compositions may be further used to make a resin film, a prepreg, a laminate or a printed circuit board, which has the properties of absence of branch-like pattern on laminate surface, high glass transition temperature, low ratio of thermal expansion, and high copper foil peeling strength.
Processes for preparing amine-functionalized cellulose nanocrystals and nitrogen doped carbon nanofibers
The present disclosure relates to a process for preparing coated cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and relates as well to coated cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) obtainable by the process described herein. These new CNC hybrid nanomaterials are expected to be useful, for example, for the conjugation and electrostatic complexation with various functional moieties such as free metal ions, carboxylic acids, and epoxy and aldehyde derivatives. The disclosure further relates to a method to fabricate N-doped carbon nanomaterial from the coated CNCs.
SELF-ASSEMBLED 2-D LAYERED SHEET STRUCTURE BASED POLYMERIC MATERIAL USING NON-CONVENTIONAL FILLER FOR ENHANCED HEAT DISSIPATION FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS
In one or more embodiments, the present invention provides a heat dissipating polymer materials (and films thereof) that utilize supramolecular chemistry. In various embodiments, these materials comprise networks of hydrogen bonded supramolecular crystals, self-assembled into aligned 2-D layered sheet structures that are distributed throughout a polymer matrix. In some of these embodiments, the heat dissipating polymer materials are prepared by in-situ co-precipitation of melamine and cyanuric acid in a PVA polymer resulting in homogenous distribution of MC crystals and the eventual formation of a network of hydrogen bonded melamine-cyanurate (MC) 2-D layered sheet structures throughout the PVA polymer.
TWO-PART NON-ISOCYANATE PRIMER COMPOSITIONS
A method for providing a primer coating on an automotive body component is provided. The method includes mixing a first part comprising polyester and melamine with a second part comprising an unblocked acid catalyst to form a mixed composition; applying the mixed composition to the automotive body component; and curing the mixed composition on the automotive body component at a temperature of less than about 120 C. (250 F.), such as from about 87 C. (190 F.) to about 110 C. (230 F.).
