MAGNETIC RESIN COMPOSITION FOR INJECTION MOLDING, AND INJECTION MOLDED BODY FOR MAGNETIC SHIELDS
A magnetic resin composition uses, as magnetic particles (B), scale-like particles that are formed of an Fe—Si—Al alloy, and has a mass ratio of a thermoplastic resin (A) that has a melting point of from 100° C. to 400° C. to the Fe—Si—Al alloy of from 10/90 to 15/85; and a cross-sectional surface (52) in the thickness direction of a sheet (50) that is formed from this magnetic resin composition (1) satisfies the conditions (1) and (2) described below. (1) The total area of the magnetic particles (B) subjected to image processing is from 40% to 65% of the area of the image processing region. (2) The number of the magnetic particles (B) subjected to image processing is from 200 to 500.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR MAGNETIZABLE PLASTICS
Provided herein are methods and compositions comprising a non-toxic ferromagnetic ink composition. Also provided herein are plastic objects containing a surface coating of a food-safe ferromagnetic ink composition. The coating imparts functionality to a plastic object such that the object is capable of being mechanically separated from waste stream using a commercial magnetic separator. The food-safe ink composition, which can be printed using high-speed flexographic, intaglio, offset printing or pad printing, combined with heat transfer printing or hot foil stamping consists of an ingestible magnetically susceptible pigment capable of rendering the printed template with magnetically active properties. The surface of the plastic object described can consist of geometric designs which increase printable surface area without significant changes in dimensions of the said object.
Induction activated adhesives and sealants
An adhesive/sealant material for induction heating including copolymer of ethylene and butyl acrylate and a metallic filler. The metallic filler may be present in an amount of at least about 30% by weight of the adhesive/sealant material.
Light weight composite of steel and polymer
Composite materials include a steel matrix with structural polymer integrated into the matrix. The composite materials have substantially lower density than steel, and are expected to have appreciable strength. Methods for forming composite steel composites includes combining a structural polymer component, such as a woven polymer, with steel nanoparticles and sintering the steel nanoparticles in order to form a steel matrix with structural polymer integrated therein.
Light weight composite of steel and polymer
Composite materials include a steel matrix with structural aramid integrated into, and passing through an entirety of, the matrix. The composite materials have substantially lower density than steel, and are expected to have appreciable strength. Methods for forming composite steel composites includes combining a structural aramid component, such as a woven polymer, with steel nanoparticles and sintering the steel nanoparticles in order to form a steel matrix with structural aramid integrated therein.
Magnetorheological Elastomer And Magnetorheological Fluid For Clinical Wrap
A reinforcing clinical wrap is provided with integral thermal management. The clinical wrap includes a fluid circuit for a heat transfer medium to circulate between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A shape conforming medium is disposed within a portion of the clinical wrap providing selective reinforcement support of the portion of the clinical wrap to conform to a surface of a patient. Non-limiting examples of the shape conforming medium may include a magnetorheological elastomer, a magnetorheological elastomer, a magnetorheological foam, a UV curable resin, and a phase change material.
PHOTON PROPAGATION MODIFIED ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING USING SAME
Additive manufacturing compositions include low-absorbing particles or non-absorbing particles that have an absorbance for wavelengths of 300 nm to 700 nm that is equal to or greater than 0 Au and is less 1.0 Au, such as 0.001 Au≤absorbance≤0.7 Au. Slurries including such particles and an uranium-containing particle and that are used in additive manufacturing processes have an increased penetration depth for curative radiation. Removal of low-absorbing particles or non-absorbing particles during post-processing of as-manufactured products results in pores that create porosity in the as-manufactured product that provide a volume accommodating fission gases and/or can enhance wicking of certain heat pipe coolant liquids. Low-absorbing particles or non-absorbing particles can be functionalized for improved properties, for example, with fissionable material for improved ceramic yields, with burnable poisons or stabilizers for increased homogeneity, with stabilizers for localized delivery of the stabilizer, or with combinations thereof.

BIODEGRADABLE POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION AND BIODEGRADABLE MOLDED ARTICLE INCLUDING BIODEGRADABLE POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION
An eco-friendly biodegradable polyester resin composition includes a polyester resin that includes a diol, an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, wherein the first weight swelling rate of the biodegradable polyester resin composition is 4% to 20%.
Method for radiation shielding
A composition and method for spray-applying a two-part, self-setting composition containing a dopant that provides a hazard shielding component and is particularly adapted for delivering the components of the composition at a temperature that promotes their spray application as well as a self-setting reaction. The method includes selecting a self-setting compound that is adapted for curing in place once applied, the self-setting compound including at least one dopant material; and applying the compound to a hazard to be encapsulated such as a radiological, lead, asbestos, or PCB. Alternately, a self-curing compound includes a multi-part compound which, upon a mixing of the parts, chemically reacts and cures, and at least one dopant material dispersed into at least one of the parts, wherein the dopant material is selected for providing radiation shielding upon application of the compound.
