A composition includes 100 parts by weight of poly(alkylene terephthalate) and 0.01 to 2 part by weight of a compound represented by Formula (1), a partially saponified derivative thereof, or a combination thereof, (1) wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and n are defined herein. The composition, which excludes copolymers of an unsubstituted or substituted styrene and an unsaturated nitrile, is useful for molding articles with very smooth surfaces. For example, the composition can be used to mold directly-metallizable substrates for automotive headlight reflectors and bezels.

The invention relates to a hyperbranched polymer comprising:

a) a hyperbranched polycondensate with hydroxyl end groups, amino end groups, or a combination thereof condensed to
b) one or more linking groups connected to
c1) one or more polyethylene glycol monomethyl ethers and
c2) one or more poly(C.sub.2-C.sub.3)alkylene glycol mono-(C.sub.8-C.sub.22)-alkyl ethers,
wherein the weight ratio of components c1):c2) is from 9:1 to 1:9. It further relates to a process for producing the polymer, to a composition comprising the polymer and an active ingredient, and to a method for controlling phytopathogenic fungi or undesired vegetation or insect or acarid infestations or for regulating the growth of plants.

Polycarbonate resin composition, method for producing same and molded article of this resin composition

To provide a polycarbonate resin composition excellent in surface hardness and impact strength. A polycarbonate resin composition comprising at least a polycarbonate resin (a) and a polycarbonate resin (b) having structural units different from the polycarbonate resin (a), which satisfies the requirements: (i) the pencil hardness of the polycarbonate resin (a) as specified by ISO15184 is higher than the pencil hardness of the polycarbonate resin (b) as specified by ISO15184; (ii) the weight ratio of the polycarbonate resin (a) to the polycarbonate resin (b) in the polycarbonate resin is from 1:99 to 45:55; (iii) the pencil hardness of the polycarbonate resin composition as specified by ISO15184 is higher by at least two ranks than the pencil hardness of the polycarbonate resin (b) as specified by ISO15184; and (iv) the Charpy impact strength of the polycarbonate resin composition is higher than the Charpy impact strength of the polycarbonate resin (a).
