CHROMIC MICROCAPSULE COMPRISING COLORANT CORE AND PRESSURE SENSITIVE DESTRUCTIBLE WALL LAYER, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
According to the present invention, provided is a core-shell structured chromic microcapsule having a size of 50-1,500 m, comprising: a core comprising a colorant core (A) and an optional inner color layer (B); and a shell comprising a pressure sensitive destructible wall layer (C) encompassing the core, an optional outer color layer (D) and an optional outermost protective layer (E), wherein the colorant core allows a high content of a colorant to be contained, and the pressure sensitive destructible wall layer comprises carbon dioxide particles and a binder comprising one or more wall-forming materials and one or more lipid-base materials. The chromic microcapsule according to the present invention has high colorant content, has excellent storage durability, maintenance durability and color-hiding property of the inner color layers, is easily destroyed by pushing, rubbing, polishing or scrubbing with the hands or a tool (cotton fabric, sponge or paper) so as to express the color of the inner color layers, and can maintain stability for a long time even if being added into a carrier.
Modified colorants and inkjet ink compositions comprising modified colorants
The present invention relates to a modified colorant comprising a colorant having at least one polymer attached or adsorbed thereto. The polymer comprises at least one functional group, and various embodiments of the functional group are disclosed. For each of these embodiments, preferably the functional group has a defined calcium index value. Also disclosed are various uses for these modified colorants, including inkjet ink compositions. Thus, the present invention further relates to an inkjet ink composition comprising a) a liquid vehicle, b) at least one colorant, and c) at least one polymer comprising at least one functional group as described herein.
HOLLOW NANOPARTICLES WITH HYBRID DOUBLE LAYERS
The present invention discloses the morphology of hollow, double-shelled submicrometer particles generated through a rapid aerosol-based process. The inner shell is an essentially hydrophobic carbon layer of nanoscale dimension (5-20 nm), and the outer shell is a hydrophilic silica layer of approximately 5-40 nm, with the shell thickness being a function of the particle size. The particles are synthesized by exploiting concepts of salt bridging to lock in a surfactant (CTAB) and carbon precursors together with iron species in the interior of a droplet. This deliberate negation of surfactant templating allows a silica shell to form extremely rapidly, sealing in the organic species in the particle interior. Subsequent pyrolysis results in a buildup of internal pressure, forcing carbonaceous species against the silica wall to form an inner shell of carbon. The incorporation of magnetic iron oxide into the shells opens up applications in external stimuli-responsive nanomaterials.
CHROMIC MICROCAPSULE COMPRISING CORE SEED AND PRESSURE SENSITIVE DESTRUCTIBLE WALL LAYER, AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention provides a color-changing microcapsule composed of a core comprising an inner color layer having a color, a pressure-breakable wall layer surrounding the core, an optional outer color layer and an optional outermost layer, characterized in that said core comprises a core-seed and at least one inner color layer comprising a colorant and a binder, and said pressure-breakable wall layer comprises titanium dioxide particles and a binder.
Said color-changing microcapsule has a high durability during storage and handling and a high masking ability of inner color, can be easily ruptured by pressing, rubbing, wiping and/or scrubbing with hand or an implement such as cloths, sponge or paper to reveal or develop the color on the inner color layer as well as can maintain the stability for a long time when incorporated into a carrier of cosmetic formulations.
Modified Colorants and Inkjet Ink Compositions Comprising Modified Colorants
The present invention relates to a modified colorant comprising a colorant having attached at least one organic group. Various embodiments of the organic group are disclosed. For each of these embodiments, preferably the organic group has a defined calcium index value. Also disclosed are various uses for these modified colorants, including inkjet ink compositions.
