Treated fillers, compositions containing same, and articles prepared therefrom
The present invention includes a process for producing treated filler that includes (a) treating a slurry that includes untreated filler where the untreated filler has not been previously dried, with a treating composition that includes a treating agent, thereby forming a treated filler slurry, and (b) drying the treated filler slurry to produce treated filler. The treating agent can include a polymer having (i) at least one first group that interacts with the untreated filler and (ii) at least one second group that interacts with a rubber matrix into which the treated filler is incorporated. The present invention also is directed to treated filler prepared by the process, as well as rubber compounding compositions and tires including the treated filler.
Surface-Treated Metal Oxide Particles
The invention provides metal oxide particles surface-treated with at least one alkoxysilane compound, methods of making such, and toners comprising same.
Hydrophobic-Treated Metal Oxide
This invention provides metal oxide particles surface-treated with a hydrophobicity-imparting agent, methods of making such, and toner compositions comprising the same.
HYDROPHOBIC SILICA FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC TONER COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a hydrophobic silica powder which is unprecedentedly insensitive to environmental humidity with which electrophotographic toner can possess stable electro static charge that leads to stable quality of printed image.
The hydrophobic silica powder has the following physicochemical properties;
average primary particle size (D) is 30-2000 nm,
B*D<430 nm, whilst B stands for weight % of adsorbed water vapor on silica (100 weight %) when the partial pressure of water to the equilibrium vapor pressure of water at 25 C. is 80% and D stands for average primary particle size (nm) of the silica powder,
B/C<2.7, whilst C stands for weight % of adsorbed water vapor on silica (100 weight %) when the partial pressure of water to the equilibrium vapor pressure of water at 25 C. is 20%, and
carbon content >0.30 wt.-%.
FILLER COMPOSITION, FILLER, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FILLER
In order to provide a filler composition for fabricating a high-performance filler achieving good productivity while preventing worsening of a working environment and production of a VOC and to provide a filler and a method for producing the filler, a filler composition of the present invention contains wet silica, a polyoxyethylene unsaturated fatty acid ester, and a sulfur-containing silane coupling agent.
Combined treatment device and method for surface modification of fumed silica
The present disclosure relates to a combined treatment method for surface modification of fumed silica, which comprises the following steps: (1) two sets of modification devices are used to jointly treat fumed silica; the fumed silica is modified with a modifier in the reaction furnace of each set of modification devices to obtain two groups of modified fumed silica and exhaust gas respectively; (2) the exhaust gas obtained in step (1) is separated respectively to obtain unreacted modifier and by-products, and the obtained by-products are input into the reaction furnace of the other set of modification devices as reaction assistants to participate in the modification reaction; and the obtained unreacted modifiers are returned to the reaction furnace of the original modification device for repeated use.
INORGANIC OXIDE PARTICLE, INORGANIC OXIDE PARTICLE DISPERSION AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SURFACE MODIFIER
Provided is an inorganic oxide dispersion (sol) in which inorganic oxide particles are dispersed in silicone oil.
SURFACE-COATED INORGANIC PARTICLES
The present invention relates to surface-coated inorganic particles in which a portion or all of the surface of inorganic particles (A) is coated with a surface treatment agent (B), wherein the inorganic particles (A) comprise silica particles or silicate mineral particles, the surface treatment agent (B) comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of a modified silicone (b1) liquid at 25 C., and a water-soluble cationic polymer (b2), and the modified silicone (b1) comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of a polyether-modified silicone, a polyglycerin-modified silicone, a branched polyglycerol-modified silicone and an alkyl glyceryl ether-modified silicone.
SILICA PARTICLE DISPERSION LIQUID
The present invention relates to a silica particle dispersion including spherical silica particles and a solvent, in which the spherical silica particles have a median diameter d50 of 0.5 m to 20 m, and a product Ad50 of 2.7 m.Math.m.sup.2/g to 5.0 m.Math.m.sup.2/g, the product Ad50 being a product of a specific surface area A (m.sup.2/g) of the spherical silica particles and the median diameter d50 (m).
Metal Oxide Particles with Uniform Multi-Layer Polymer Coatings
The present invention is a multilayered composite comprising porous metal oxide particles that are covalently bonded by way of inorganic ether groups to one or more sites of a first polyhydroxyl-functionalized polymer. This first polymer is in turn covalently bonded by way of inorganic ether groups to one or more sites of a second polyhydroxyl-functionalized polymer. The multilayered composites can be prepared by contacting porous inorganic-oxide particles with a sufficient amount of OH-reactive crosslinking agent to form metal oxide particles imbibed with the crosslinking agent, and then contacting the inorganic-oxide particles with a solution of polyhydroxyl-functionalized polymer under reactive conditions.
