POROUS CARBON MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING POROUS CARBON MATERIAL
The present invention relates to a porous carbon material having a co-continuous structure forming portion in which carbon skeletons and voids form continuous structures, respectively and which has a structural period of 0.002 m to 3 m, having pores which have an average diameter of 0.01 to 10 nm on a surface thereof, and having a BET specific surface area of 100 m.sup.2/g or more.
Hybrid carbon black and coating composition
A hybrid carbon black is provided, which includes a carbon black core and a polymer film wrapping an entire surface of the carbon black core. The polymer film includes a network of a plurality of polymer main chains crosslinked each other, and a plurality of dispersion-side chains bonded to the polymer main chains. The dispersion-side chains come from an acrylate monomer with a chemical structure of: ##STR00001##
wherein when n is 4 to 7, R.sup.1 is H or CH.sub.3, and when n is 8 to 14, R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3.

Electrophoretic dispersion
The present invention is directed to an electrophoretic dispersion comprising charged pigment particles dispersed in a solvent or solvent mixture, wherein at least one type of the charged pigment particles has an aggregation size about 2 to about 10 times their primary size and/or has a PDI in the range of 0.1 to 0.3. The electrophoretic dispersion of the present invention is capable of improving both image bistability and contrast ratio through adjusting the size distribution of the charged pigment particles.

Carbon material dispersion
The present invention provides a carbon material dispersion in which a carbon material is contained at a high concentration in a liquid medium containing an organic solvent but is unlikely to reaggregate and is stably dispersed, and from which various products, such as an ink capable of forming a coating film having excellent electric conductivity, can be formed. This carbon material dispersion contains a carbon material, an organic solvent, and a polymeric dispersant, wherein the polymeric dispersant is a polymer having 3 to 55% by mass of a constituent unit (1) represented by the following formula (1), wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or the like, A represents O or NH, B represents an ethylene group or the like, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently represent a methyl group or the like, Ar represents a phenyl group or the like, X represents a chlorine atom or the like, and p represents an arbitrary number of repeating units, and the polymeric dispersant has an amine value of 100 mgKOH/g or less and a number average molecular weight of 5,000 to 20,000. ##STR00001##
