Metallic Material Surface Treatment Agent, Metallic Material Having Surface Treatment Coating, and Manufacturing Method Therefor
A surface treatment agent capable of forming a hexavalent chromium-free chemical conversion coating that can provide an excellent corrosion-resistant coating on various metallic materials; a metallic material having a surface treatment coating obtained therefrom; and a method of producing the same. A free fluorine ion-containing surface treatment agent for surface-treating a metallic material, which is obtained by mixing at least one supply source (A) of trivalent chromium-containing ions A; a supply source (B) of ions B that are at least one selected from titanium-containing ions and zirconium-containing ions; a water-soluble or water-dispersible compound (C) containing an alkoxysilyl group, an aromatic ring, a hydroxy group directly bonded to the aromatic ring, and at least one of primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary amino groups, wherein the alkoxysilyl group is bonded to the nitrogen atom of the amino group directly or via an alkylene group; and a fluorine-containing compound (D) providing fluorine-containing ions.
INORGANIC-ORGANIC PHOSPHATE CERAMICS AND COATINGS
This disclosure relates to an inorganic--organic metal phosphate ceramic coating from the reaction of an inorganic phosphate of the formulas (i) A.sub.m(H.sub.2PO.sub.4).sub.m.nH.sub.2O or (ii) AH.sub.3(PO.sub.4).sub.2.nH.sub.2O; where A is ammonium or an m-valent metal element; m=1, 2, or 3; and n is 0 to 25; and at least one metal oxide or hydroxide represented by the formula B.sub.2mO.sub.m or B(OH).sub.2m, where B is a 2m-valent metal; and m=1 or 1.5; thereof; and at least one polymer capable of reacting with at least the one metal oxide or hydroxide; or a first organic precursor combined with the inorganic phosphate and a second organic precursor combined with the at least one metal oxide or hydroxide, the second organic precursor configured to chemically react with the one or more first organic precursor.
Chromate-Free Ceramic Coating Compositions For Hot Corrosion Protection of Superalloy Substrates
Hexavalent chromium-free slurry formulations which are suitable in the production of ceramic overlay coating systems are described. The formulations provide superior hot corrosion and heat oxidation protection for superalloy substrates. A basecoat slurry and topcoat slurry are provided. The basecoat slurry includes an aluminum phosphate based aqueous solution having a molar ratio of Al:PO.sub.4 higher than about 1:3 with the incorporation of metal oxide particles. The topcoat slurry includes an aluminum phosphate based aqueous solution having a molar ratio of Al:PO.sub.4 higher than about 1:3. Both of the basecoat slurry and the topcoat slurry are hexavalent chromium-free.
PROTECTIVE COATINGS FOR FERROUS SUBSTRATES
Inorganic coatings that may be used to coat and protect steel are disclosed. The protective inorganic coatings include a liquid composition portion comprising water, alkali metal oxide components and a silicate-containing component. The coatings also include a powder composition portion comprising microspheres, metal oxide powder and optional microfibers. When applied to steel substrates, the coatings provide chemical and physical protection.
PROTECTIVE COATINGS FOR GALVANIZED STEEL
Inorganic coatings that may be used to coat and protect galvanized steel are disclosed. The protective inorganic coatings include a liquid composition portion comprising water, alkali metal oxide components and a silicate-containing component. The coatings also include a powder composition portion comprising microspheres, metal oxide powder and optional microfibers. When applied to galvanized steel, the coatings provide chemical and physical protection.
HIGH TEMPERATURE OXIDATION PROTECTION FOR COMPOSITES
A method for coating a composite structure, comprising applying a first slurry onto a surface of the composite structure, wherein the first slurry is a sol gel comprising a metal organic salt, a first carrier fluid, and a ceramic material, and heating the composite structure to a first sol gel temperature sufficient to form a sol gel-derived base layer on the composite structure.
Chromium-free corrosion inhibition coating
Disclosed is a corrosion inhibition coating, comprising: a base comprising a matrix and a metal within the matrix; and an inhibitor comprising: zinc molybdate, cerium citrate, magnesium metasilicate, a metal phosphate silicate, or a combination thereof, wherein the metal within the matrix comprises aluminum, an aluminum alloy, zinc, a zinc alloy, magnesium, a magnesium alloy, or a combination thereof. Also disclosed is a substrate coated with the corrosion inhibition coating.
Hexagonal boron nitride epoxy compound anticorrosive paint, and preparation method and use thereof
The present disclosure discloses a hexagonal boron nitride epoxy compound anticorrosive paint, and a preparation method and use thereof. The anticorrosive paint mainly comprises hexagonal boron nitride, an oligoaniline or polyaniline nanofiber, an epoxy resin, a dispersing medium, a paint additive, an epoxy resin curing agent, and a solvent. The hexagonal boron nitride epoxy compound anticorrosive paint provided by the present disclosure has the advantages, such as good stability, simple preparation process, and low cost, does not tend to precipitate, is suitable for large-scale production, forms a coating that has excellent barrier properties and lasting corrosion resistance, and has very good application prospects in the industries, such as chemical industry, petroleum, electric power, shipping, light textile, storage, transport, and spaceflight.
CORROSION-RESISTANT COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention provides a chromate-free coating composition having excellent corrosion resistance. The coating composition includes a binder system comprising a resin and a pigment system including a metal alloy pigment component and optionally, a carbonaceous component. Coated articles with the coating composition applied to at least a portion of a surface thereof are also provided.
PROCESS AND COMPOSITION FOR PASSIVATING METAL SURFACES
Aqueous compositions useful as a passivation treatment prior to painting to reduce corrosion. The compositions includes water, a trivalent chromium salt with the formula Cr(H.sub.xPO.sub.4).sub.3, where x is 1.5 or 2, a polymer system having a plurality of carboxylic functional groups, an organo-functional silane, and an organopolyphosphonic acid. A process for treating a metal surface includes contacting the surface with such aqueous compositions. The compositions and the processes provide benefits in comparison to the zinc phosphate metal pretreatment thought to be the standard in the industry.
