CUT-AND-PROCESSED PRODUCT, AND GUARDRAIL
A cut-and-processed product of a ZnAlMg-based plated steel material including a base steel material and a ZnAlMg-based plating layer covering a surface of the base steel material, in which a cut end surface of the cut-and-processed product is covered with the ZnAlMg-based plating layer at a coverage of from 50 to 99% with respect to the cut end surface, a non-plated surface of the base steel material and the ZnAlMg-based plating layer around the non-plated surface, in the cut end surface of the cut-and-processed product, are covered with a repair coat, an initial coat resistivity is from 10 to 1000 /cm.sup.2 and a coat resistivity after immersion of the cut-and-processed product in 5% by mass salt water for 3 hours is from 5 to 50 /cm.sup.2, in the repair coat, and a thickness of the repair coat is 10 m or more, as well as a guardrail utilizing the cut-and-processed product.
Union screw for a pipeline provided with at least one flange, in particular a brake pipe
A union screw (1) for pipes (2) provided with at least one flare (21) comprises a metal base body (10) which accommodates the pipe (20). The union screw (1) further comprises a screw head (12), a threaded portion (13), a contact portion (15) which is configured to abut the flare (21) of the pipe (20), and a functional layer (40) with which the base body (10) is coated at least in the region of the threaded portion (13) and the contact portion (15). The functional layer (40) is multi-layered and consists of at least one base coat (41) and a top coat (42) applied to the base coat (41) at least in some areas. The base coat (41) forms a structure for creating corrosion protection and a far-reaching invariance with regard to the material of the usual friction partners of the union screw (1) which, in addition to a binder, also contains zinc in the form of zinc-containing lamellae (43), which are oriented to lie substantially flat on the base body (10).
COATING COMPOSITION
A composition for coating metal surfaces includes a binding agent having a phenolic resin, an epoxy resin, in particular phenoxy resin, a polyester resin (soft resin) and a polyisocyanate, further having at least one conductive pigment, a corrosion resistant pigment and a solvent. The coating layer obtained from the composition by drying is corrosion-resistant, non-flammable, forming-compatible and weldable.
Composition for coating an overhead conductor comprising a reflective agent and a photocatalytic agent
A composition for coating an overhead conductor is disclosed comprising: (i) a reflective agent; (ii) a photocatalytic agent comprising 70 wt % anatase titanium dioxide (TiO2) having an average particle size (aps) 100 nm; (iii) a non-aqueous solvent; and (iv) one or more alkyl silicate binders.
Environmental barrier coating
An article according to an exemplary embodiment of this disclosure, among other possible things includes a substrate and a barrier layer on the substrate. The barrier layer includes a bond coat comprising a matrix, diffusive particles disposed in the matrix, and gettering particles disposed in the matrix; a topcoat; and a porous interlayer disposed between the topcoat and the bond coat. The porous interlayer has a porosity that is greater than a porosity of the topcoat. A slurry composition for applying an interlayer to an article and method of applying a top coat to an article are also disclosed.

A method of reducing corrosion, including coating a surface of a substrate with a corrosion inhibitor to form a coated substrate, and contacting the coated substrate with a corrosive medium, wherein the coated substrate in the corrosive medium has an i.sub.corr of less than 0.01 A cm.sup.2. The corrosion inhibitor includes polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and a layered double hydroxide (LDH) having a formula of X.sub.2Al, wherein X is Mg or Zn.
