ANTICORROSIVE NANOCOMPOSITE

An anticorrosive nanocomposite is described. The anticorrosive nanocomposite includes a cured epoxy and jute carbon. The jute carbon is in the form of flakes. The flakes have a particle size of 0.05-15 micrometers (m). Particles of the jute carbon are dispersed in the cured epoxy. A method of preparing the jute carbon is also described.

SYNERGISTIC METAL POLYCARBOXYLATE CORROSION INHIBITORS

The invention comprises synergistic compositions of at least two metal carboxylates as corrosion inhibitors based on polycarboxylate anions and a variety of different cations. The inhibitors are designed to be added to film forming or other compositions to reduce the corrosion of the metal substrate on which the synergistic compositions are applied.

The present application relates to a method for enhancing metal corrosion resistance of a metal deposited on a substrate, the method comprises contacting the metal coated substrate with a treating composition comprising a film forming organic component which treating composition forms a hydrophobic film on the metal coated substrate with a thickness of less than 1 m. Furthermore, the present application relates to a method for making a mirror comprising a substrate having a metal coated thereon, the method comprises contacting the metal coated substrate with a treating composition comprising a film forming organic component which treating composition forms a hydrophobic film on the metal coated substrate with a thickness of less than 1 m. Preferably, the film forming organic component is selected from the group consisting of an aromatic triazole compound and a silicone resin. In addition the present application relates to the products obtainable by these methods.

Coatings for Corrosion Protection

The present application provides corrosion protection compositions. In one embodiment, the corrosion protection composition of the present disclosure contains a polymer composition saturated with a clay that is intercalated with a C.sub.1-22 alkyl amine or a C.sub.1-22 alkyl ammonium cation. Methods of protecting metal surfaces from corrosion are also provided.

Pre-treating polymer tubing or hose with a hydrophobic coating to reduce depletion of corrosion inhibitor

An inside surface of a hose for use with liquid-cooled cooling plate assemblies and other applications that contain copper (Cu) components is pre-treated with a hydrophobic coating to reduce depletion of a copper corrosion inhibitor (e.g., benzotriazole (BTA)) dissolved in a liquid coolant (e.g., deionized water) that flows through the hose. Exemplary hydrophobic coatings include, but are not limited to, polydialkylsiloxanes such as polydimethylsiloxanes. In one embodiment, a multilayer hose is immersed in a solution containing hydrophobizing siloxane monomers dissolved in a solvent. The coated multilayer hose is then dried to evaporate the solvent. As the solvent evaporates, the siloxane monomers bind together to form the hydrophobic coating. In some embodiments, one or more hoses each provided with a hydrophobic coating interconnect liquid-coolant cooling system components (e.g., cold plates, headers, manifolds, pumps, reservoirs, and heat exchangers) of a cooling apparatus that removes heat from one or more electronic components.

High performance coatings

The present invention relates to coatings, particularly high performance coatings, containing a polyester polyol comprising recurring units derived from a polyacid source, poly(bisphenol-A carbonate) (PBAC), and a glycol. The PBAC is preferably recycled poly(bisphenol-A carbonate) (rPBAC). These coatings provide improved salt spray and stain resistance along with a variety of other coating performance attributes. The polyols can contain a significant recycle and biobased content, making them sustainable alternatives to petroleum based polyols.

Anti-corrosion nanocomposite coating

An anti-corrosion coating and a method for fabricating the anti-corrosion coating is disclosed. The coating includes a polymer, a curing agent, and quantum dots. The method includes adding carbon quantum dots to a polymer coating as a nanofiller to enhance the corrosion resistance properties of the polymer coating. The coating is configured to provide improved anti-corrosion properties at a lower cost.
