CORROSION INHIBITING SELF-PROTECTING COATINGS
The corrosion of unprotected steel substrates causes damage that is costly to repair or replace. Current protective coatings predominately rely on environmentally harmful anticorrosive agents and toxic solvents to protect the underlying substrate. The use of lawsone (2-hydroxy-1,4-napthoquinone) together with a environmentally benign epoxy coating provides an environmentally-friendly alternative for common protective coatings. Microencapsulated lawsone embedded coatings allows the anticorrosive agent to remain dormant until released by damage and is then deposited directly onto the steel substrate. Both visual and electrochemical analysis shows that this self-protective scheme leads to 60% corrosion inhibition in a neutral salt water solution.
CALCIUM BASED NANOPARTICLE CORROSION INHIBITOR ADDITIVES
The present disclosure relates generally to corrosion-inhibiting compositions and methods for improved corrosion inhibition of metal surfaces used in oil and gas operations. Corrosion-inhibiting compositions include calcium-based nanoparticles for improved corrosion inhibition.

The compositions for inhibiting corrosion comprise at least one organic heterocyclic compound and at least one metal salt or mixed metal salt selected from rare earth, alkali earth and transition metals.
Metal member having excellent corrosion resistance, method for producing the same, and material and method for repairing metal member
An object is to provide an environmentally benign metal member having excellent corrosion resistance which exhibits a long-lasting corrosion resistance effect even in a saltwater environment or the like in which a water current is present, without requiring an external factor such as ultraviolet light. Provided is a metal member having excellent corrosion resistance in which at least a surface is made of an aluminum-based metal, the metal member comprising a corrosion protection film containing a poorly water-soluble lithium compound on the surface or a solid material containing a poorly water-soluble lithium compound on the surface.
Nano phosphatic hybrid geopolymeric corrosion resistant coating material and a method of preparation thereof
The present invention provides a nano phosphatic hybrid geopolymeric corrosion resistant coating material. The tailored precursor of corrosion resistant coating material is obtained by a process involving, together dry grinding of raw materials fly ash, sodium hydroxide, rice husk, tri calcium phosphate and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide optionally with sodium silicate, in solid powder form. The developed coating material obtained by adding water to tailored precursor contains nano sized phosphatic compounds of Cancrisilite (sodium aluminum carbonate silicate hydrate), quartz, mullite, heamatite, sodium aluminum silicate, Herschelite (sodium aluminum silicate hydrate), Sucrose, D-Glucose, Native cellulose, and phenol, responsible for providing improved corrosion resistant properties and adhesion to the mild steel substrates. The geo-polymeric coating material is used as an anti-corrosive, heat resistant coating material on various materials e.g. mild steel substrates.
GALVANIZED METAL CORROSION INHIBITOR COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
A method of preventing formation of rust on a metal surface is provided. The method may include applying a polyamine onto the metal surface and applying a compound of formula (I) or salt thereof onto the metal surface. The compositions and methods disclosed herein may be used to inhibit corrosion of a metal surface in contact with an aqueous system.

Identification and characterization of novel corrosion inhibitor molecules
Methods of employing corrosion inhibitors with oxidizing and/or non-oxidizing biocides, such as peroxycarboxylic acids, to provide corrosion protected compositions are disclosed. Various corrosion inhibitors further provide biocidal efficacy in addition to the corrosion protection providing further benefits for application of use. Methods of employing corrosion protected biocide compositions, such as peroxycarboxylic acid compositions, for corrosion protection are particularly well suited for treating fluids intended to flow through pipes, namely in the energy industry, water and paper industries, etc. Methods providing suitable corrosion protection in comparison to untreated systems and corrosion protected systems using conventional corrosion inhibitors, such as quaternary amines and imidazolines commonly used in the industry, are disclosed.

An article includes a substrate; a first corrosion protection layer disposed on the substrate; and a second corrosion protection layer disposed on the first corrosion protection layer. The first corrosion protection layer includes a sol-gel composition and the second corrosion protection layer includes a polyurethane composition. At least one of the first or second corrosion protection layers include a corrosion inhibitor.
Waterborne Autoweldable Shop Primer
A one-part, storage-stable, air-dryable, latex-coatable waterborne film-forming coating composition has dispersed therein sufficient conductive material to provide an autoweldable hardened shop primer layer when applied to metal components. The thus-primed components may be welded together using automated arc welding equipment without having to remove the coating composition at the weld site. The conductive material desirably causes little or no airborne emission of unsafe quantities of heavy metals or other harmful substances when the primer is volatilized or combusted during welding.
