ENCAPSULATED CORROSION INHIBITORS
Disclosed herein are capsules including corrosion inhibiting compounds, a method for preparing them, and a method of using the capsules for releasing the corrosion inhibiting constituents.
TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING FUNCTIONALIZED PARTICULATE
Treatment compositions include a mixture of a corrosion inhibitor and a functionalized particulate in a solvent. The functionalized particulate includes both epoxy and amine groups. Surfaces coated with the treatment composition have improved corrosion inhibition performance, and/or greater duration of corrosion inhibition performance with respect to corrodents such as CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2S when compared to the corrosion inhibition performance of the same corrosion inhibitor coating in the absence of the functionalized particulate. The coatings including functionalized particulate are usefully applied to one or more interior and/or exterior surfaces of containments, separators, conduits, and other equipment, such well string completion components, that are contacted by fluids containing corrodents.
CORROSION INHIBITING PASTE FOR AIRCRAFT USE
A chemical composition comprising a mixture of a non-curing organic polymer base with a viscosity between 300 and 10,000 centipoises at 20 C. and a molecular weight of between 1,000 and 100,000. Into the base is mixed at least one of: metal particles (coated or uncoated), inert particles and non-metal corrosion inhibitors such that reaches a viscosity of between 9,000 and 10,000,000 centipoises. The result is a paste that is useful in applying to metal aircraft parts to help prevent corrosion, including galvanic corrosion.
ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION
A mineral wool or other fibrous product which comprises in at least a surface layer thereof an anticorrosive composition comprising one or more alkali metal silicate components of the formula Me.sub.2O.Math.xSiO.sub.2, wherein x has a value of from 0.5 to 4.0, one or more alkali metal phosphate components of the formula Me.sub.2O:nP.sub.2O.sub.5, wherein n has a value of from 0.33 to 1 and/or hydrates thereof, and one or more carboxylic acids having 6-22 carbon atoms and/or salts thereof.
Anticorrosive composition
An anticorrosive composition comprising (a) one or more alkali metal silicate components of the formula Me.sub.2O.Math.xSiO.sub.2, wherein x has a value of from 0.5 to 4.0, (b) one or more alkali metal phosphate components of the formula Me.sub.2O:nP.sub.2O.sub.5, wherein n has a value of from 0.33 to 1 and/or hydrates thereof, (c) one or more carboxylic acids having 6-22 carbon atoms and/or salts thereof: and the use of the composition for imparting anticorrosive properties to a material such as a mineral wool product.
SEALANT COMPOSITIONS
Sealant compositions for conferring unpainted corrosion resistance to a metal surface, such as an aluminum alloy, methods for conferring corrosion resistance by applying the sealant compositions, and metal surfaces, components, and articles that have been thereby rendered corrosion resistant, wherein the sealant compositions may be substantially free of chromium (VI), permanganate, heavy metals, or lanthanide rare-earth metals, and can provide performance similar to the military Class 1A specification by conferring protection against corrosion, whether painted or unpainted.
Crosslinkable polymer composition, crosslinked polymer material, metal member, and wiring harness
A crosslinkable polymer composition and a crosslinked polymer material including a metal member and a wiring harness. The crosslinkable polymer composition contains component A from which metal ion is released by heat, component B containing an organic polymer having a substituent capable of ionic bonding with the metal ion released from component A, and component C containing one or more acidic phosphate ester with a carbon number of 4 to 30. Assuming that the metal ion released from component A has a valence of +y and a content of the metal ion is m mol, the substituent contained in component B has a valence of z and a content of the substituent is n mol, the acidic phosphate constituting component C has a valence of x and a content of the acidic phosphate esters is 1 mol
g0.1 holds for g=(m.Math.yl.Math.x)/(n.Math.z).
Compositions for inhibiting corrosion
The present disclosure relates to agents, compositions, and methods for inhibiting corrosion in various substrates, for example in metal substrates. The present disclosure also relates to compositions for inhibiting corrosion comprising at least one organic heterocyclic compound and at least one metal salt or mixed metal salt selected from rare earth, alkali earth and transition metals.
