CORROSION INHIBITING COATING FOR METAL SUBSTRATES COMPRISING A BRITTLE ALUMINUM ALLOY AND A BINDER
A corrosion inhibiting coating composition for a metal substrate, the coating composition comprises a film forming binder and powdered aluminum alloy particles. The aluminum alloy includes silicon in the amount of 1% to 30% by weight as well as one or more elements, selected from a first group, which comprises an embrittlement enhancing element and/or an electrochemical anodic enhancing element.
Corrosion inhibiting paste for aircraft use
A chemical composition comprising a mixture of a non-curing organic polymer base with a viscosity between 300 and 10,000 centipoises at 20 degrees C. and a molecular weight of between 1,000 and 100,000. Into the base is mixed at least one of: metal particles (coated or uncoated), inert particles and non-metal corrosion inhibitors such that reaches a viscosity of between 9,000 and 10,000,000 centipoises. The result is a paste that is useful in applying to metal aircraft parts to help prevent corrosion, including galvanic corrosion.
Polymeric compositions and corrosion resistant systems
A composition and method of synthesizing a composition from organic oils and industrial byproducts for use as a corrosion inhibitor coating is disclosed. The synthesis of a rapid setting ionomer is the result of iron-induced polymerization of oleic and linoleic acids, where an alkaline ionomeric reaction is facilitated with a small fraction of pure aluminum leaf at room temperature. At least one alkaline reagent is employed with at least one metallic additive to form metal complex ionomers that form a solid polymer. The resulting ionomer is stirred and applied on the substrate as a surface coating and it starts setting in less than thirty minutes.
LOW-DENSITY ANTI-CORROSION PRIMER WITH STRONG ADHESION TO HEAVY FLASH RUST SURFACE AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure discloses a low-density anti-corrosion primer with strong adhesion to heavy flash rust surface and its preparation method, which relates to the field of paint chemical industry. The epoxy primer includes component A and component B; the component A includes epoxy resin, double-layer coated hollow glass microspheres, thixotropic agent, wetting dispersant, pigment, barium sulfate, talcum powder, solvent A, defoamer, first silane coupling agent, and aluminum powder slurry; the B component includes curing agent, promoter, and solvent B. The low-density epoxy primer of the present disclosure, which strongly adheres to heavy flash rust surface, has excellent adhesion and anti-corrosion performance on metal substrate surfaces treated by manual rust removal, mechanical rust removal, water sandblasting rust removal, and other methods. It has a high tolerance for the flash rust on the surface treated by water sandblasting rust removal and can be adapted to heavy flash rust surfaces.
