Electrodepositable Coating Compositions and Electrically Conductive Coatings Resulting Therefrom
The present invention is directed towards an electrodepositable coating composition comprising a film-forming binder and electrically conductive particles, wherein the electrically conductive particles are present in an amount of at least 25% by weight, based on the total solids weight of the electrodepositable coating composition. The present invention is also directed towards methods of coating a substrate, coatings, and coated substrates.
Coating composition for surface repair of turbomachine components and compressor components
A coating composition for coating of components of a flow machine, especially a turbomachine such as a gas turbine with compressor, or of a compressor, which are exposed to the fluid stream of the flow machine or of the compressor, wherein the coating composition includes anticorrosion pigments, wherein the coating composition includes hard material particles, and wherein the coating composition is an RT-curing, UV-curing and/or thermally curing coating composition. A component of a flow machine or of a compressor has the coating composition. A method of maintaining a flow machine or a compressor uses the coating composition.
Zinc-rich coatings and systems with microencapsulated healing agents
Microencapsulated healing agents that, upon incorporation into a zinc-rich coating or coating system, improve the coating or coating system's ability to maintain its adhesion and corrosion resistance after damage that exposes the underlying substrate. These microencapsulated healing agent formulations are uniquely synergistic with zinc-rich coatings, and/or with zinc particles in a zinc rich coating, improving both adhesion maintenance and corrosion resistance following damage that exposes the substrate.
Chromium-free corrosion inhibition coating
Disclosed is a corrosion inhibition coating, comprising: a base comprising a matrix and a metal within the matrix; and an inhibitor comprising: zinc molybdate, cerium citrate, magnesium metasilicate, a metal phosphate silicate, or a combination thereof, wherein the metal within the matrix comprises aluminum, an aluminum alloy, zinc, a zinc alloy, magnesium, a magnesium alloy, or a combination thereof. Also disclosed is a substrate coated with the corrosion inhibition coating.
CORROSION-RESISTANT COATING COMPOSITION
The present invention provides a chromate-free coating composition having excellent corrosion resistance. The coating composition includes a binder system comprising a resin and a pigment system including a metal alloy pigment component and optionally, a carbonaceous component. Coated articles with the coating composition applied to at least a portion of a surface thereof are also provided.

COATING MATERIAL AND COATED STEEL
Provided is a coating material including particles of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide, strontium oxide, and strontium hydroxide, and particles of a metal sulfate. In the coating material, a soluble amount of the metal sulfate in 100 g of water is 0.5 g or more at 5 C.; an average particle diameter of the particles of the compound is 17 m or less, an average particle diameter of the particles of the metal sulfate is 17 m or less, a content of the particles of the compound is 0.10 to 50.0% by mass with respect to a total solid content of the coating material, and a content of the particles of the metal sulfate is 0.05 to 30.0% by mass with respect to the total solid content of the coating material.
Corrosion inhibitor-incorporated layered double hydroxide and sol-gel coating compositions and related processes
A corrosion-resistant coating on an aluminum-containing substrate such as an aluminum substrate, an aluminum alloy substrate (e.g., AA 2024, AA 6061, or AA7075), or other aluminum-containing substrate includes a corrosion inhibitor-incorporated ZnAl layered double hydroxide (LDH) layer and a sol-gel layer. A zinc salt and a corrosion inhibitor (e.g., a salt of an oxyanion of a transition metal such as a vanadate) is dissolved to form a zinc-corrosion inhibitor solution, and the substrate is immersed in or otherwise contacted with the solution to form the corrosion inhibitor-incorporated ZnAl LDH layer on the substrate. A sol-gel composition is applied on the corrosion inhibitor-incorporated ZnAl LDH layer of the substrate to form a sol-gel layer, and the sol-gel layer is cured.
