ANTI-CORROSION COATING COMPOSITION
Provided is a humic acid-based coating suspension comprising humic acid, particles of an anti-corrosive pigment or sacrificial metal, and a binder resin dissolved or dispersed in a liquid medium, wherein the humic acid has a weight fraction from 0.1% to 50% based on the total coating suspension weight excluding the liquid medium. Also provided is an object or structure coated at least in part with such a coating.
TUNABLE MATERIALS
A corrosion resistant material is described including a substrate, a first material including less than about 90% of an amino group or epoxy group, between about 0.05% and about 50% siloxane, between about 5% and about 80% nanoparticles, microparticles, or macroparticles, and between about 0.1% and about 5% of a first functionalized graphitic material, a second material including less than about 90% of a silyl group, between about 0.05% and about 50% siloxane, between about 5% and about 80% nanoparticles, microparticles, or macroparticles, and between about 0.1% and about 5% of a second functionalized graphitic material, and a third material including less than about 90% of an amino group or epoxy group and a silyl group, between about 0.05% and about 50% siloxane, between about 5% and about 80% nanoparticles, microparticles, or macroparticles, and between about 0.1% and about 5% of a third functionalized graphitic material.
SOL-GEL COATING COMPOSITIONS INCLUDING CORROSION INHIBITOR-ENCAPSULATED LAYERED METAL PHOSPHATES AND RELATED PROCESSES
A layered tetravalent metal phosphate composition (e.g., a layered zirconium phosphate composition) and a first corrosion inhibitor (e.g., cerium (III), a vanadate, a molybdate, a tungstate, a manganous, a manganate, a permanganate, an aluminate, a phosphonate, a thiazole, a triazole, and/or an imidazole) is dispersed in an aqueous solution and stirred to form a first solution. A precipitate of the first solution is collected and washed to form a first corrosion inhibiting material (CIM), which includes the first corrosion inhibitor intercalated in the layered tetravalent metal phosphate composition. The first CIM is added to a first sol-gel composition to form a first CIM-containing sol-gel composition. The first CIM-containing sol-gel composition is applied on a substrate to form a CIM-containing sol-gel layer, cured by UV radiation, and thermally cured to form a corrosion-resistant coating. One or more additional sol-gel composition may be applied on the substrate.
SHOP PRIMER
An aqueous shop primer comprising: (A) 25 to 80 wt % of a polysilane sol; (B) 0.5 to 15 wt % of an accelerator selected from at least one of zinc phosphate, zinc oxide, calcium strontium zinc phosphosilicate, zirconium hydrogen phosphate, iron phosphide, calcium zirconate, barium zirconate, zirconium nitride, zinc titanate and iron(II) titanate; (C) 15 to 40 wt % of at least one anticorrosive pigment; (D) 0.5 to 10 wt % microspheres.
RESIN-COATED METAL POWDER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME AND AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION USING SAME
A resin-coated metal powder according to the present invention is obtained by covering at least a part of the surface of a metal powder with a hydrolyzable resin that has an average composition of general formula (1) and a number average molecular weight of from 500 to 100,000; and this resin-coated metal powder exhibits sufficient dispersibility in an aqueous solution, while being stable for a relatively long period of time even in the coexistence of water in an aqueous coating material.

(In the formula, R.sup.1 represents a linear or branched monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, said group optionally having a specific substituent such as a hydroxyalkyl group; each of R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 independently represents a linear or branched monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; each of R.sup.2 and R.sup.6 independently represents a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and a and b represent numbers that satisfy 0a<1, 0<b1 and (a+b)=1.)
Anti-corrosive zinc primer coating compositions
The present invention concerns anti-corrosive coating compositions, in particular coating compositions for protecting iron and steel structures. In particular, the present invention relates to coating compositions comprising particulate zinc, conductive pigments, and microspheres. The invention furthermore concerns a kit of parts containing the composition, a method for its application, as well as metal structures coated with the composition.
Tone ring and attachment structure
A tone ring attachment for a disc brake rotor. The disc brake rotor has a disc portion that includes a plurality of circumferentially-spaced lugs. Each one of the lugs has a groove. A discrete tone ring body has a plurality of bosses. Each one of the bosses is receivable in a respective one of the grooves in the lugs. A dart projection extends from at least one of the bosses. The dart projection engages a respective one of the lugs to inhibit relative axial movement and relative rotational movement in at least one direction between the tone ring and the disc brake rotor. A tab is formed on at least one of the bosses. The tab is engageable with a portion of the lug to inhibit relative rotational movement in a second direction opposite the first direction between the tone ring and disc brake rotor.
CORROSION CONTROL COATING
