Fouling control composition comprising a polymer comprising silyl ester functional groups and quaternary ammonium/phosphonium groups
The present invention relates to a polymer comprising (a1) silyl ester group(s) and (a2) quaternary ammonium group(s) and/or quaternary phosphonium group(s), said quaternary ammonium groups and/or quaternary phosphonium groups being neutralised by counter-ions, wherein the counter-ions consist of the conjugate base of an acid having an aliphatic, aromatic, or alkaryl hydrocarbyl group. The invention further relates to a fouling control coating composition comprising said polymer, a method of protecting a man-made structure immersed in water from fouling, and a substrate or structure coated with the fouling control coating composition.
PAI-BASED COATING COMPOSITION
A process for PAI-based coating compositions. An embodiment of a method includes manufacturing a coating composition, the manufacturing of the coating composition including mixing a first solvent, the first being solvent being N-formyl morpholine (NFM), with a second solvent to form a first solution; dissolving polyamideimide or polyamide amic acid resin polymer (PAI) in the first solution; precipitating a PAI compound from to mixture of MEK and the first solution; and dissolving the PAI compound in a second solution to generate a coating solution.
Synthesis and micro-/nanostructuring of surface-attached crosslinked antimicrobial and/or antibiofouling polymer networks
The present invention relates to substrates comprising a crosslinked network of covalently attached antimicrobial and/or antibiofouling polymers. The crosslinked network of antimicrobial and/or antibiofouling polymers acts highly efficiently against pathogens, e.g. bacteria and fungi. Both the antimicrobial and the antibiofouling cross-linked polymer networks are preferably better resistant to mechanical damage than simple surface-immobilized polymer monolayers. The antimicrobial and/or antibiofouling polymers of the crosslinked network are preferably obtained by ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and exhibit a molecular weight of preferably more than 30,000 or even 100,000 g mol.sup.1. The crosslinked network of antimicrobial and/or antibiofouling polymers is preferably covalently attached to the surface of a substrate, e.g. an implant, a medical device, medical equipment or a (tissue-supporting) biomaterial, etc. The present invention is also directed to uses of crosslinked networks of antimicrobial and/or antibiofouling polymers as defined herein, e.g. for coating a surface of a substrate, and to methods therefore.
Curable composition based on polysiloxanes
A curable composition can have a surface with amphiphilic properties which is thus able to counteract biofouling. The curable composition includes: a component A: at least one polysiloxane, a component B: at least one polyether bearing silyl groups and/or a reaction product of a polyether bearing silyl groups with one or more isocyanate-containing compounds, and a component C: at least one catalyst.
RESIN COMPOSITION, DISPLAY DEVICE MANUFACTURED USING THE SAME, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE DISPLAY DEVICE
An embodiment provides a resin composition including a liquid repellent, where the liquid repellent includes a compound represented by Chemical Formula I below or a compound represented by Chemical Formula 2 below:

WATERBORNE COATING COMPOSITION
A waterborne coating composition including: an aqueous emulsion polymer having a copolymerized Phosphorous-acid monomer, an aqueous dispersion of cement, and a solid inert filler, each in certain amounts, is provided. A method for providing a coated substrate employing the waterborne coating composition that has been subsequently activated and the coated substrate so formed are also provided.
SILICONE HYDROGEL LENSES WITH WATER-RICH SURFACES
The invention is related to a hydrated silicone hydrogel contact lens having a layered structural configuration: a lower water content silicone hydrogel core (or bulk material) completely covered with a layer of a higher water content hydrogel totally or substantially free of silicone. A hydrated silicone hydrogel contact lens of the invention possesses high oxygen permeability for maintaining the corneal health and a soft, water-rich, lubricious surface for wearing comfort.
FLUORINE-CONTAINING COATING FILM AND WATER- AND OIL-REPELLENT COATING COMPOSITION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a coating film capable of realizing satisfactory sliding properties in addition to water- and oil-repellent properties and wear resistance evaluated by a static contact angle, and a coating composition for obtaining the coating film.
The present invention is directed to a fluorine-containing coating film which has a root mean square roughness of less than 3.5 nm and has a perfluoropolyether structure. It is preferred that the coating film has a polysiloxane backbone and further has a structure in which a fluoroalkyl group is directly bonded to a silicon atom of the polysiloxane backbone, and that a sliding angle of 6 ?L of a water droplet is 24.3? or less, or a speed of 20 ?L of a water droplet sliding on a coating film inclined at 32? is 0.1 cm/second or more.
