A curable film-forming composition is provided, comprising: (a) an acrylic polyol prepared from a monomer mixture comprising a hydroxyl functional monomer, wherein the hydroxyl functional monomer comprises a hydroxyalkyl group with an alkyl chain of at least four carbon atoms; (b) a rheology modifier comprising: (1) a non-aqueous dispersion of an internally crosslinked organic polymer; and (2) a reaction product of an amine and an isocyanate; and (c) a curing agent comprising functional groups that are reactive with hydroxyl functional groups. Also provided are a multi-component composite coating that includes the curable film-forming composition described above and methods for forming a composite coating on a substrate.

The invention relates to a copolymer obtained by polymerisation reaction of at least three comonomers: a first anionic monomer, a second monomer comprising an olefin unsaturation, and a third monomer comprising a hydrophobic group. The invention likewise relates to the use of said copolymer as a thickening agent, in particular in aqueous suspensions of mineral particles with high solids content. The copolymer according to the invention makes it possible to improve the compromise between viscosity with high shear gradient and viscosity with low shear gradient, while also improving water retention inside the suspension.

There is disclosed a washable paint composition suitable for use by children. The composition includes one or more pigments, specific extender pigments, alkali soluble thickeners and non-volatile neutralisers in an amount that allows the paint composition, should it come in contact with a cotton based textile, to be solubilised in a water solution and washed from the textile without leaving a stain.

The invention relates to an organic solvent-based retroreflective ink, paint or coating composition, having a first Brookfield viscosity ?.sub.1 at a shear rate of 0.5 rpm of between 0.2 and 8 Pas and a second Brookfield viscosity ?.sub.2 at a shear rate of 20 rpm that is between 80 and 450 mPa.Math.s, with the proviso that ?.sub.2 is at least 2 times lower than ?.sub.1, wherein the organic solvent-based retroreflective ink, paint or coating composition consists of, based on the total weight of the composition: 25-75 wt. % of organic solvent: 1-85 wt. % of spherical glass beads: 0.15 1.2 wt. % of thickener; and 0-30 wt. % of one or more further ingredients: wherein the Brookfield viscosities ?.sub.1 and ?.sub.2 are measured with a #2 spindle in a 600 ml beaker having a diameter of 8.25 cm at a temperature of 25? C.
